Eras and three point shooting

Disclaimer: I play with Real Player % and 5 minute quarters.

I played 4 games in the modern era, and I've already hit like twice as many threes as I did in a 14 game season in the Jordan era.

Maybe it's just me, but is there something about eras that makes three point shooting much harder? I'd understand that to a point considering how much more rare three point shooting was back then, it's just frustrating to constantly clank the rim with A+ shooters.

Re: Eras and three point shooting

The Jordan era they brick a lot of threes even with ray Allen
It's not like that in the Kobe era tho me and the CPU hitting
I think it's about the hidden sliders in the Jordan Era because shooting threes wasn't that popular but ray Allen &My created Reggie Miller shouldn't be bricking threes so much that's what made those shooters special
MJ had the middy on Lock and Ray & Miller had the 3 on lock what's the problem 2k

Interesting. So this means they have hidden sliders in eras to give the appearance of different gameplay. Such as them hard coding Jordan to get doubled all the time in the 90’s.

2K figures since they can’t control you to force you to shoot less 3 volume, they’ll give you less incentive to do it by bricking. NBA league average 3 point % in 92-93 was .336%, and in 2021-2022 was .354%. Much different volume, not a world of distance in efficiency. So the hard coding to brick with elite shooters (some who hold all time records in shooting efficiency, e.g 3 point% and FT% that come from that era) isn’t realistic.

I think we may have just jumped to some pretty quick conclusions on the prospect of hard-coding.

I can't really speak to it either way because I'm playing in the 80's era and nobody of note is really firing threes ad nauseum, but I am able to dominate behind the arc with Dale Ellis and Reggie Miller at least.

I dare you to go to the Jordan era and play against a elite 3-point shooter and Leave him open all game and come back with your conclusions how many they missed 🤔

The doubling Jordan by every team is hideous with no real strategy and water the gameplay down because I'm gonna hit the open man duh lol
I think it is hard coded or a bandaid

Playing the 1992 playoffs right now - Reggie Miller hit 8 treys against me a few nights ago. finished 8/12 on the night.

I draw the D in with MJ routinely then kick out to Paxson or BJ for three's, without much issue. Both those guys for the season are sitting around 35-38% from deep.

I will admit though, after playing a few games as a test in the Kobe era, the 3's were seemingly dropping easier.

Jordan got constantly double and triple teamed. So that's realistic.
