Starting Career at Amateur

So I just missed on winning the Amatuer and I’m now in the Q school tourney. Will I not be able to complete the quest to win the US Amatuer? Will I have to start a new person and career? I figured then I wouldn’t get the attributes with a new person. I don’t see how I could do that quest or the other quests with the tournaments on the first go. The Augusta national woman’s, the R&A and the Asia Pacific one. How do we complete these quests without making a new character?

In real life you'd just move up the ranks, you can't stay an amateur forever until you finally win, right? Therefore creating a new golfer from scratch and trying to win it again would be the realistic option. Just a thought to ponder...
