I'm very excited to be back on these forums and to be sharing this fun little hobby with you guys. Just thought I'd get you guys caught up on what's been going on in this college basketball world...

We are about the begin the 2012-2013 college basketball season, with Texas Tech defending their first national championship in school history, led by former Gonzaga coach Mark Few. The Red Raiders were a 2 seed and took down #7 Iowa State, #10 Gonzaga, #3 Memphis, and #5 Washington to win the East regional. They defeated #1 Tennessee in the Final Four to advance to their first trip to the Natty, where they defeated #3 Pitt 84-83 in overtime. Pitt defeated UT-Martin in the Sweet 16 on their way to the championship.

The past four champions were Florida (#1 seed - defeated #1 Michigan State), USC (#8 seed - defeated #1 Ohio State), UConn (#1 seed - defeated #8 Florida), and UCLA (#3 seed - defeated #1 Kansas).

Gonzaga is still one of the top Mid-major programs in the nation, the West Coast Conference has yet to catch up to them. The Bulldogs are coming off four straight regular season conference titles and won three straight conference tournaments before being knocked off by Pepperdine last season. This is by far the best team I will be in control of in the many years playing this game so i'm excited to get some games in!
