My Custom 2023 Offseason Roster Has Returned to Xbox Series X/S...

On the horizon:

- March 13th/14th - Free Agency
2 days prior to the official start of free agency (March 15th) I will release all UFAs into free agency and update depth charts accordingly. I will be adding free agents daily with proper years/contracts. ERFAs and RFAs will remain on their teams until their contract situations are finalized. All reserve/future deals will be added to the roster at this time as well.

Reminder: Madden custom rosters only allow you to add a max of 3-years to a player's contract, so for example Derek Carr will show 3 years instead of the 4-year contract he just agreed to today in New Orleans.

- April 27th - NFL Draft I'm not ready to make any promises yet. I'd like to avoid the Draft this year but realistically I will likely include Rounds 1-2.

By being lowered to 12 OVR they will not be signed randomly in Franchise Mode. This also leaves them available for any user to continue to play with them if they so choose. C Rodney Hudson is on watch also... Reserve/Future Signings: - All 32 NFL Teams will eventually have their reserve/future signings added to the roster as long as they exist in Madden. Their contracts will be revised once they are either released or officially signed around the time of pre-season. About 50% of the teams have been completed. Misc. Roster Edits & Changes: - The following players had their contracts revised: QB Geno Smith [Seahawks], OL Conor McDermott [Patriots], LS Taybor Pepper [49ers] & QB C.J. Bethard [Jaguars] had their contracts updated after recent extensions. Reminder: I can correct the contractual years but I have zero ability to control salaries. - WR Calvin Ridley placed back in the starting lineup of the Jaguars. He was reinstated by the NFL today and is expected to compete for a starting role. Defensive Scheme Change: - A couple teams are on watch for defensive scheme changes. Switching between 3-4 and 4-3 base defenses on the roster is easy but many teams are moving to a hybrid scheme now a days. To my knowledge teams like the Packers, Panthers, Texans and Vikings are the front runners for an early switch. I'll update once things become official.

Tonight I released another roster update. This update only consists of transactions that took place over the last couple of days as well as a few tweaks on depth charts and base rosters.
No major changes will be taking place until either Monday or Tuesday when I start the official free agency version of this roster.

As I've mentioned before: it is up to you when you want to utilize this roster as every day moving forward the NFL will have new transactions. This is the busiest time of the year with NFL rosters. I do my best to keep the roster updated as often as possible, but it's impossible to have a long stretch where there aren't relevant changes.

New Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero is bringing a 3-4 base defensive scheme with him from Denver. During 'Play Now' mode or in 'Franchise Mode' you will need to switch to a 3-4 or hybrid defensive playbook. - The Arizona Cardinals were converted to a 4-3 base defense on my roster. HC Jonathan Gannon advised that DC Nick Rallis will have complete control over the defense and a 4-3 transition is already in the works with recent signings. As mentioned before, remember to switch to a 4-3 or hybrid defensive playbook in Franchise Mode & Play Now modes. - Due to Madden restrictions as well as recent personnel additions in ATL, I converted their base defense to a 4-3 on their roster. They will be using a 4-3, hybrid defense in real life, but for roster purposes it's easier to have it as a 4-3. Use a 4-3 or 'multiple' defensive playbook in Franchise and Play Now. Recent comments from the defensive coordinator backs this up. Misc. Notes and Edits: - CB Darius Slay placed back on the Eagles roster. Earlier reports had him released but it's been confirmed he's coming back to Philly with a new extended contract. - I went ahead and added Brett Favre......I mean, Aaron Rodgers to the Jets roster. I have him with his current 2-year contract until more information is passed whenever this trade is finalized. He pretty much confirmed on the Pat McAfee show that he's NYC bound, so it's been done on the roster as well.

I already have this year's QB draft class rated higher and I will not be going any higher than it is. - Several other changes were made to the roster tonight. I even converted Seattle's base roster back to a 3-4. Over the offseason, there were several reports coming out that Seattle was moving to a 4-3 (which made sense with their top 3 LBs) but after the draft, it's pretty much confirmed they're staying with their 3-4.
