Will SDS ever tell us the real deal with the Rawlings glove?

After being in the game for so many years, and being the type of glove that I'd say 85% of baseball players use....but starting in MLB The Show 22, and as of the trailer/screenshots/tech test for MLB The Show 23, the Rawlings glove with the red label, and gold glove label are no longer in the game.

How can this be? Other Rawlings gloves are in the game, just not the one that essentially everyone uses, the red label.

Instead, we get this weird almost inverted color logo that does not exist in real life.

Does anyone know the story behind this, has SDS said anything, or is this just one of those things they are just going to keep us in the dark about until it either comes back one day or doesn't?

Just a comparison of Aaron Judge in real life vs his glove in the game:

What's the deal with this glove in MLB the Show?

Doubt they’ll ever say anything about it. It’ll either randomly come back or it won’t. They still never gave an explanation for what happened with the equipment last year.

Eye sore for me last year and will continue this year. It makes zero sense considering the Red Label is worn by most if not all Rawlings Gloves users. My guess its a Rawlings decision and not sds. I cant possibly see them borking this 2 years in a row without a legit reason.

I just can't imagine what the issue is. I'm sure everything in or not in MLB the Show boils down to legalities and getting rights/licenses.....but it's not SDS lost the rights to Rawlings. There are MULTIPLE Rawlings gloves in the game, just not the ONE that essentially everyone wears.

So what could be the issue? Would it make any sense for Rawlings to pull the rights to this ONE glove, being that it's the MOST USED GLOVE in all of MLB, but allow SDS to use all the other types of Rawlings gloves?

Last year it almost seemed like a glitch at first, like oh there's the Rawlings heart of the hide, but they glitched it and inverted the colors...but then as the entire season dragged on and it didn't get fixed and nobody from SDS said anything.....I dunno. This game is real weird a lot of the time with the decisions and how things play out. I'd love to work there if for nothing else to just finally know the process and procedures that have been frustrating me for the better part of almost 20 years.

I think the frustrating thing for people here is the lack of transparency and communication from SDS. They used to be so good about answering questions and being upfront with decisions (good or bad). Now they often avoid answering questions and border on being misleading when it comes to bad news (e.g. season mode removal)

These boards have to take some responsibility for them choosing not to interact like they used to.

yep. I was glad to see Steve_SDS respond to a few posts here earlier this last week, even with what some might consider info too trivial or mundane to care about those posts.
but it was small nuggets like that, that I really enjoy.
I hope his experience was pleasant enough he'll back for more exchanges
