I am extremely interested to see if Kyle Shanahan can coach a team led by Brock Purdy all the way to the damn Super Bowl lol.

These have been the two best teams in the NFC all year overall, so I hope we get a good game.

I think it is a good matchup. Both teams have eerily similar styles and match up well. Eagles might not be able to pound the ball against this 49ers D and their LBs are fast and disciplined enough to control the read option. 49ers OL shouldn't be wrecked by Eagles DL. Kittle is the best TE they will have faced all season. Kittle and Debo poses a threat because Eagles aren't a great tackling team.

But, I think Eagles definitely pull this out. These teams are evenly matched, but I think Hurts tilts the odds vs Purdy. Purdy showed moments that the lights can get bright. Eagles DLine is legit and don't need a blitz to get pressure. Purdy got lucky with multiple passes. While Shanahan is a great playcaller, he does have a history of not alway being great at game management and situational awareness. While SF D is legit, I think Eagles can attack the SF CBs. I think as long as Eagles take care of the football, I think they win

As well as the Cowboys defense played, I expect the Eagles to be even better. I know, statistically, Philly's run defense isn't as good, but I'm sure they'll try to stack the box. The 49ers can't struggle in the first half again like yesterday and expect to survive.

Mobile QBs have traditionally given the Niners trouble. Bosa has been relatively quiet during the playoffs, going to need him to go off Sunday. Hopefully Omenihu isn't too banged up.

No doubt the 49ers can win this, but it's going to be the toughest challenge yet.

Edit: Haven't seen this anywhere, but I was thinking about 49ers playoff history last night after the game. The last six times the 49ers have made the playoffs, they've reached at least the conference championship game. The last divisional playoff loss was the 2002 season to Tampa Bay. The last one-and-done was the 2001 season wild-card to Green Bay.

I agree about Eagles Run D. There was only a few games where they were actually gashed on the ground. Lions, Texans, Commanders loss, Packers, and Justin Fields, other than that, they haven't had issues with the run defense. Part of that is that they have gotten decent leads in a lot of games

I would put Bosa over Mailata rather than Johnson. Johnson still dealing with that groin injury, he still had a great game

I wouldn't just say struggle in the first half, they can't be overly cautious with Purdy. It felt in the first half, they would've rather win the game with the run game and have Purdy manage the game. I would try to attack Eagles zone Defense and put a heavy emphasis on Debo and Kittle and see if Eagles tackling holds up

I can see the Eagles Defense focusing on stopping the run and forcing Purdy to beat them through the air. I think one of the biggest matchups of the game will be Reddick vs McGlinchey. Reddick has been a terrific signing. He really has outperformed his contract. He can wreck a game if the OT can't hold up.

While I'm going with the Eagles to win, 49ers could definitely win. Obviously getting turnovers should help. But besides that, 49ers need to get to a fast start and control the game. They need long sustaining drives and stay out of obvious passing situations. For their Defense, get pressure and limit splash plays

Guessing he’ll be sitting this one out now after being arrested for misdemeanor domestic assault.

As much as I want the 49ers to win I think the Eagles will be just too much too handle. Considering how our offense struggled in the 1st half against the Cowboys, I find it hard to believe we will have lots of success against the better Eagles defense.

My confidence in Kyle to properly time manage the game if it is close isn't too high either. Even if the 49ers get a big lead somehow...man the Chiefs superbowl gave me PTSD

They announced they are letting the legal process play out before deciding to cut him.

Over/Under 49 hours that he is cut due to backlash?
