I know this piece was geared more toward consoles, but there are a lot of new options for people interested in racing on PCs in recent years. These options are getting a lot more financially accessible as well. Fanatec now has competition from the likes of Moza, Asetek, and Simmagic and Logitech just released their first version of a direct drive wheel.

I am very happy with the Moza R9 and GS wheel I bought for my PC this past summer. Moza also released an slightly less powerful R5 that looks like a really solid entry level direct drive wheelbase for a very reasonable price if someone isn't necessarily interested in consoles.

It might be helpful to do another piece surveying some of these more recent direct drive options so that people get a sense of recent developments in this space.
