Why can’t i in edit player, change a player’s contract anymore? Or sign two way players either?

Something in the patch took out the ability to edit Contracts in existing save files (if you were to start a new MyNBA it you would still be able to edit them). I've been keeping my roster up to date with real NBA Transactions and I've been able to sign most players to Two Way Contracts just fine but I did have trouble signing Daquan Jeffries to the Knicks and I still haven't figured out why.
