Difference between Difficulty and CPU Difficulty Adjustment?

Hi there,

does anyone know what the difference between the general "Difficulty" setting and the "CPU Difficulty Adjustment" is? I'm asking because on one hand Allstar Difficulty is to easy for me. On the other hand I've got the impression that Superstar isn't that much more difficult but has a much higher tendency to allow the AI to score strange goals (i.e. unrealistic).

So I thought I might try to use Allstar in connection with a 3/6 AI Difficulty Adjustment or so. But I'm afraid that this slider is just a sort of AI boost for certain attributes or so - resulting in another unrealistic gameplay.

Does anyone know the difference? I'm not asking for a specific NHL game. Currently I'm playing 19, 21 and 22.

Thanks!
