2K23 Next-Gen Created Player Faces Don't Match

Hello OS Community. I have been playing NBA 2K23 on PS5 and am somewhat enjoying it. It has its faults. Anyway I noticed recently that Created Player [not MyCareer] faces in-game look different from when you are creating/editing the players. Does anyone know the reason/have a fix for this?

This is a known issue an has been a issue since launch..I would have thought they would have fixed this by now but they haven't.. hopefully in the next patch.. what I do as a work around is create a player save his DNA an then don't save him.. go to your roster an load the cap from your saved DNA if you save the cap the face will not match.. only save the DNA an exit

Thanks for the workaround. It seems to be hit or miss with my previously made players though. I'll have to try it with new created players.

This issue has been known since the very first day of release. The fact that we’re nearly 3 months in and still no fix, leads me to believe that the issue is simply unfixable. It sucks but in a way I’m kinda glad. Maybe this will finally (after 5 years!) motivate 2k to revamp the entire Create A Player system.

You can also create a player by editing one of the CAPS in a generic draft class.

Create your player and export his DNA. You can save the created player in the draft class to come back to if you wish. I'm not sure if exporting first before saving affects things.

Now, when you look at your created player in the Player DNA tab, he will not look the same in his preview (click edit and he will though).

However, if you import that DNA onto a player in a roster, he will match what you created in both his preview and in-game appearance.

This what I have been doing to some moderate success. Works most of the time, but sometimes it doesn't. Still fooling around with it just recently picked up this years game.

Wouldn't be 2K without some good ol' head bangin

Edit: this method is working great for me. all caps look as they should.

2K definitely needs to update the system. It kinda baffles me that MyCareer players get access to certain animations (3pt celebrations, contact dunks, etc.), but regular Created Players don't. Hell, not being able to choose the body type you want for your CPs makes no sense.

Also is anyone one Xbox Series X/S? Is the face issue also on Xbox as well?

Man, this totally worked. Now my Barkley and Reggie Miller faces look as they were designed -- Thank you. I don't know what I'd do without this community. Hell, I don't know what 2K would do without this community.

Does this also work if you import dna of a Reggie Miller cap onto an already created cap of that same player?

Meaning if my nba season already has a created Reggie and I want to make sure he really looks like Reggie, can I just export and import the dna of that exact Reggie onto himself?
