IR - Roster Spot

I thought putting a player on IR opened up a roster spot. I noticed when I put a player on IR it still shows my roster count as 53/53. Can someone explain the benefit of putting a player on IR, because I also noticed you have to wait a couple weeks of them not being injured before you can take them off of IR. Any IR guidance or help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

The CPU may have signed a replacement. Look at the transaction log to see if a roster move was made for your team. Short term IR is 8 weeks in Madden. Make sure you wait until the regular season begins before you put someone on IR if you want to bring them back in season.

The solution is pretty simple. The count just doesnt get updated right after putting a player on IR. But you should still be able to add another player to your roster.

Additionally if you are playing with updated rosters some players are eligible to be removed from the IR, so keep an eye out for those as well.

I can echo this…the count doesn’t get updated but if you go to add another player it should allow it without cutting anyone
