Custom league a kind iof Franchise mode league ?

As maybe some know I do not have NHL 23 now. Can someone plz explain me what custom league mode is ? Is it a kind of Franchise mode with farm teams, drafting, scouting,
player developing where I can create a fantasy league with personal schedule for 82,48 24 games ? For example like the 33rd Team in Franchise mode.but with choosen teams from AHL or European teams ( CHL teams ? ) ? When I choose AHL teams for my league, which farm teams will they have than ?

Yes! It is franchise and you can customize everything in both the NHL and AHL! Teams/Divisions/Conferences, schedules, how points are determine, playoff format/schedule, salary cap minimum/max. Just about anything you could customize can be done.

I am doing all 32 teams, no conferences or divisions, playing round robin x2 (play everyone twice - home & away - 62 games), 3 pts for regulation win, 1 pt for OT/SO win, 0 pts for any type of loss. 10 team playoff - Top 6 get byes and 4 wildcards (7-10) play each other in wildcard round. Been an absolute blast! AHL I have left as is - not sure how it progresses players.

Thanks for your your answer. So I can choose an AHL Team to play in Franchise mode at this custom league ? For example Hartford Wolf Pack as 33rd Team and all other Teams same as in NHL.? Which minor league Team will play than for the New York Rangers cause Hartford ist the minor league Team of the Rangers ?

Thanks again for your answer. I don't have this game now, will buy later in a used market. At the moment stay with NHL 22. Only wanted to know about custom league options before. I mean as the main Team for 33rd Team and not as a farm Team

Custom leagues is the only reason I'm getting this game for the first time in 4 years. Hoping for online custom leagues next year!!!!

Bugging the S out of me, I have it set for W-L-T (think 1990) with no points for OTL, and it’s still counting OTLs. So like I’m 4-4–0 but the pregame record is showing that I’m 4-2-0 because two of my losses were in OT, and the standings are showing that I’m 4-2-0-2. Kinda wack and worth mentioning here imo.

Friend told me in a call today that it is not possible to use AHL Teams in custom league. Can you confirm that ?
