Just Discovered I Can't Choose To Retire in RTTS 22

I know, I know...I am late to the game in discovering this. I can't believe that there are glitches where I can't chose to retire, let's say, after my latest contract is up at age 35.

This is the first time in having the game that I have played this far in RTTS and to find out there are these glitches re: retirement is so disappointing.

Someone hold me.

Are you sure it's a glitch? I have the odd inkling that it's working as intended.
