Proof that penalties do matter

Hey guys, after trying to get a realistic game with out it being too easy I tried to flip the script and come up with a set of sliders that are mainly affected by the penalties . Not only did I max out the cpu , I put the user side all the way Dow to 0 except for pass accuracy , catching and fumbles . I left those at 50. I put all the penalties at 0 and all the penalties to off . So what I have is this :

All cpu sliders except for special teams is 100.
All user sliders are 0 . Pass acc, catching and fumbles are at 50.
All penalties are 0 and off.

This is on all madden with default injury , fatigue and parity at 50.

Try them out and see how much better the cpu plays and how no penalties allows for better interaction .

injuries 25
Fatigue 50
Parity 95
All penalties -0
All penalties off
User is at 0 except for pass acc, catch, fumbles and tackle are at 50.
Cpu is at 100 except for pass block at 0 and catch at 50.
Special teams are at 50 for both

It's interesting to see this.

I guess the next question is so what is the ideal balance here?

That would be your preference . But for me it’s about gameplay. If no penalties get called so be it . I’m looking for a challenging game with authentic animations and little cheese by the cpu .

Not true. There are a handful of very vocal people on the other side. Mostly that Mike guy. You could collect his posts on the matter over the past few years and aptly name it the "Madden Commishion" because he swears its all magic bullets and placebos....

I disagree with him/them, as the only thing I can think of why they say that is that they never tried it for research purposes themselves.

But trust me, this has been hotly debated over the years.

No penalties makes it a non simulation football game. Well, EA did this, not us.

Re: Proof that penalties do matter

Interactions are very smooth and less warping and overall the gameplay is butter. Only problem is the qb accuracy and wr catching
