Tampa Bay Lightning Season

I am playing all 82 games with the Lightning on season mode. I would like to play on franchise mode but they took away editing strategies this year.

I would like to use this thread to log my progress and see anyone else has any good info that can be used in Season Mode.

I play on All Star with aggression and speed reduced.

So far I am 4-3. I won the first three games to start off 3-0 then I lost three straight games before finally winning again.

THIS YEARS GAME HAS MUCH TOUGHER 3RD PERIOD PLAY. The CPU plays much tougher at the end of the game and will fight to try to take the lead and win the game. It is very hard to keep a lead and you have to really play defense all the way down the ice. Very good gameplay this year. The gameplay is better being really tough because it makes each game challenging.

The CPU also has a much stronger finishing shot when they shoot from the crease. You have to stay on the puck carrier when they in your defensive zone.

The games have had a lot of variety and randomness. Some games I get a lot of penalties some games I have none called on me.

I am 4-4-1 right now. I have a hard time after starting 3-0 but I have been losing some tough games. Pro difficulty is too easy even with the aggression at 100.

This game is much better when it is competitive even if you are losing. I still can get better. It's still early in the season.

Nice thread. I usually do the same yearly. Pick one team and try to play every match of the season. I am curious, how long periods are you using and do you play many games during one evening?

I am using 8 minute periods that is long enough to really feel like you are immersed in an actual game. If there are a lot of game stoppages you can really be playing for a while. Its awesome. Each game is like a movie all unto itself.

As long as I am not busy during the week I try to play at least once a day and on the weekends I try to play twice a day. I am off Friday thru Sunday so I try to play 6-7 games just on the weekends.

I might be moving this week or next so I may not get to play a lot but I will keep on playing and recording whatever progress I am making.

6-4-1 after back to back wins. One of which was a shootout win over Ottawa.

A lot of teams in my division are off to good starts. I have feeling that it is going to be very hard to make the playoffs. I am going to have to treat every game like it is life or death.

So many good teams in my division.

Re: Tampa Bay Lightning Season

I just played maybe my most beautiful game ever. Very evenly matched game. 2 of the 3 goals were from PP. Very tough and at times chaotic game. Could have gone either way. It was decided by a Stamkos slap shot on a PP in the 3rd period.

Had to post the stats from this gem of a game.
7-4-1 right now and on a 3 game winning streak.

9-6-1 and playing some very good hockey. Already 16 games deep with 66 games left.

One thing that I am noticing is that at least on season mode is that the teams all play differently.

Buffalo had a offensive attack that was pretty easy to slow. Edmonton's offensive attack is absolutely unbelievable and I got smoked.

When I played the Capitals I lost 3-1 on two unbelievable slap shots by Ovechkin.

Each game is a completely different experience.

They haven’t taken it away it’s still in there it’s just don’t game by game on the pre game screen where you can also edit lines.
