Does 2K24 need a “Lebron” era starting in 2010-2011?

This years MyNBA eras mode is one of the best additions to franchise in my opinion that I’ve seen in a very long time. I understand the choice of each era but wondered why a ‘Lebron’ era didn’t make the cut?

I personally think a Lebron era, commencing in the 2010-2011 season would be another great addition.

The 2010-2011 season is when the big 3 Miami Heat formed, the Celtics and Lakers are starting their decline, it’s Shaq’s final NBA season, Derrick Rose becomes the youngest MVP, Carmelo is traded to the Knicks, the young Thunder team is intact.

In that era you could choose to dominate with Lebron, win a final chip with Dirk or Duncan, see what would happen if the NBA didn’t veto the Chris Paul to lakers trade, see if you can build the warriors dynasty by adding Klay in 2011 and Draymond in 2012?

The 2011 draft itself (after the first season you would play) is quite interesting too. Kyrie goes #1.Kawhi goes #15. An underrated Jimmy Butler goes #30 and diminutive Isaiah Thomas goes #60.

The following season could simulated the 66 game shortened season because of the lockout. The new CBA introduced the luxury tax repeater rules (I believe) and in 2014-15 the Bobcats became the Charlotte Hornets once again (or you could keep them as the Bobcats!)

Anyway, I think that decade would be another really good era that would strengthen the already amazing mode and give historic sim heads the ability to effectively play through the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s with some level of accuracy.

I know there has been some noise about doing a 1960s or 1970s era mode and whilst that would be amazing I’m just not sure if it would resonate as much with gamers as a 2010s era (just my personal opinion).

So what do you all think? Would a “Lebron” era / 2010s addition be a welcome add for 2K24?

Honestly I would prefer a Steph Curry era before a Lebron era. Considering Curry impact changed how the game is played. Not only in the NBA, but on the college and high school level as well. This a 3pt world now because of Curry.

I think you’d ultimately be asking for the same thing as OP then.

I don't need a Lebron era...it would be boring. Petting together Superteams and flopping around and shooting 3s all day is not my kind of Basketball

I suggested this in the MyEra wishlist thread, but I'd do a "Mamba Era" starting in 2008-2009. MyEra seems to be focused on a season that leads into a big time draft and 2009 gives you Steph, Harden, Blake Griffin, and DeRozan among others (Rubio, Jrue Holiday, Pat Bev, Danny Green, Patty Mills etc.) Then that season in the league was the big Kobe vs. LeBron year spoiled by the Magic, the first year of the OKC Thunder, D-Rose's first year, the 09 Nuggets etc. If they could get enough player rights I think it'd be perfect to add.

I’d like to see a “Three point Era” somewhere between The Kobe Era and whatever the current season is. I would prefer 2011-12 or 2012-13. So I get Kawhi on the Spurs and can keep him there. That one and one either the year before the merger or the year of the merger would make me buy 2k24.

The concept that stop Lebron is the originator of Superteams is quite boring and and a lazy assessment - for one: Wade was ALREADY in Miami and ONLY Bosh is the one star player that came along when he signed with the Heat - this is NO different than the Rockets and of the late 90’s or Blazers & Lakers of the early 2000’s.
