NHL 23 ALL PRO (the gap between Pro and All Star)

These settings worked well on the previous 2 versions of NHL and with EA doing a copy/paste job again there's no reason why they won't continue to work.

It's a set to plug that gap that many of us struggle with. By that I mean Pro being too easy and All Star being too hard. Stats will look good with accurate shot totals and powerplays.

The list below is the changes you need to make, all other values can stay with the default setting.

Let me know what you think.

Settings:

Game Style: Simulation (I rename my saved style NHL23)
Post Whistle Rules: Authentic
Fighting: 2/2
Injuries: On
Penalties: 4/4
Period Length: 6 minutes
Difficulty: PRO
Penalty Time Scaling: 0/6
Coincidental Scaling: 0/6

I've kept time scaling low as you will see an accurate number of powerplays per game.

General:

Game Speed: 0/6

Goalies:

Cover Frequency: 50
Goalie Passing: 75
Goalie Cross Crease Reaction: CPU 75/Human 75
Goalie Save Reaction Time: CPU 75/Human 75
Goalie Deflection Reaction: CPU 75/Human 75
Goalie Screen Effect: CPU 50/Human 50
Goalie Screen Persistence: CPU 50/Human 50

Checking:

Hitting power down to 15 for player and CPU

Passing:

Accuracy down to 0 for CPU

Shooting:

Shot accuracy down to 40 for human
Shot power down to 45 for cpu

Penalties:

CPU Penalties: 95
CPU Teammate: 95
Tripping: 95/95
Slashing: 95/95
Elbowing: 95/95
High Sticking: 95/95
Cross Checking: 95/95
Boarding: 95/95
Charging: 95/95
Delay of Game: 65/65 (lower totals here otherwise you get too many)
Holding: 95/95
Hooking: 95/95
Interference: 95/95

AI:

AI Learning: 3/6
CPU Difficulty Adjustment: 3/6
CPU Adjustment Strategy: 3/6
User Adjustment Strategy: 3/6

Used to love the old Genesis games, but I haven’t played an NHL game in years.

Going to give these sliders a go and I’ll let you know how it goes once I’ve had a chance to get a game in.

Had to increase goalie numbers as they seem easier to score on. Original post reflects the changes.

Couple of goalie changes to passing and cover up.

Re: NHL 23 ALL PRO (the gap between Pro and All Star)

Played 1 game so will test more but I outshot the CPU quite a bit. I won 5-2 (empty net goal) but curious if you have any tips if the shooting numbers continue lopsided on how to improve that. Just don’t want my goalies to have terrible save percentages cause they give up 2 goals on like 12 shots. Love the penalty frequency and how some seemed to happen when I really got the puck cycling in the zone almost like the cpu got desperate as they were getting tired out. Enjoyed the sliders so far outside of the shot totals but again gonna get a few more games in to see as one game isn’t a fair assessment haha

Only way to increase shot totals is to move up to All Pro but game becomes tricky.
