Why are simmed games so high scoring?

Like the title says. I use 12 minute quarters for both played and simmed games, and simmed games are routinely in the 130+ range for points for the winning team. Is there a fix for this, besides shortening the simmed quarter length? I imagine pace of play is contributing as well.

Simmed a season and Luka average 40ppg. He won mvp a few years in a row.

The high sim scoring has a lot to do with it.

This can be fixed. My beta slider set focuses on this a great deal:

I like it. It's wild. I'm doing simcast, but I watch the highlights sometimes, and I got AI on my stuff, so he's lighting it up. It is definitely weird, but I think it evens out. The percentages are rarely off, tho I did have my team shoot 72% for a game, but we won like 140 to 59 or something lolll.

But yea, with people making shots inside (which is what makes the scoring high) opposed to missing them, it also makes the rebounds less ridic so you don't see cs getting like 30 rebs every game.

Re: Why are simmed games so high scoring?

Seems like a few things at play here.

The Sim engine has a lot of 3PT shots, very high assists, and a lot of fouls that all create higher scores.

Default roster tendencies have too many players with very high shoot and touch tendencies so Luca, and others score too much. 2K roster tendencies are almost always problematic like this.

Adjustments -

Tweak tendencies to lower Shoot and Touch scores lower (make the Max values 90 instead of 99 or something like that.

Adjust the Sim engine settings to reduce pace, 3 point shots, assists, and fouls a bit. Experiment until the simmed stats look about right.

I find 2K tendencies favor drive, inside, and close scoring too much. I adjust tendencies globally to reduce inside, close and drive categories and increase midrange, 3PT, and dish to open man tendencies to even things out a bit.

But this is somewhat a personal preference.

Then I find you need to adjust the Sim engine to reduce pace, assist, and fouls to keep stats more in line with real life stats.

It's a bit of trial and error to find a mix that fits your likes and gives realistic stats.

Like Mike Lowe said, you have to adjust your simulation sliders during the MyNBA setup to your liking. Devs have given you a lot of control in this regard.
