Progressive Lighting ???

Does Madden 23 have any trace of progressive lighting?

1:00pm Clear/Partly cloudy: do shadows shift ?

4:00pm Clear/Partly cloudy: Are Stadium lights ON by the 3rd QT ?

Can anyone with early access confirm this?

Do you have the game? If so why can't you look for yourself.

It doesn't seem like it does. I played a 4pm game and it had the same lighting in the 4th quarter as in the first quarter. It was an exhibition game and I had to quit suddenly in the 4th. Then when I fired the game up later it asked me to resume...which I did. Surprisingly it dropped me into the 4th quarter and the sky was dusk like and the lights were on. So....that isn't progressive by any measure but it shows that some logic in the game thinks a 4pm game should be getting dark in the 4th quarter.

Re: Progressive Lighting ???

Seems to be yet another thing we once had and have lost. I’ve noticed in the few games I’ve played so far that the shadows on the field never movess as the game progresses.
4:15pn games were always my favourite, loved the lighting changes.

Not a deal breaker as I’m having fun this year, but add it to things like missing player numbers in penalties and the fades to black going into TV ad breaks.

Re: Progressive Lighting ???

It sucked anyway tbh, these devs had zero appreciation for how daylight savings time effects the football season, and zero appreciation for how August & September shadows and lighting are starkly different from their counterparts in November, December & January.

So maybe if this ever comes back they’ll actually care enough about it to pay attention to it next time. And maybe the NCAA devs will have a clue for their new game, hopefully, because this team certainly didn’t.

Lastly apparently nobody likes outdoor football anymore anyway so who cares about natural lighting I guess but I digress.

Re: Progressive Lighting ???

Not sure if this is what you are referring to, but 6:30 games start off with sun and by the end of the game is night. I think 4:15 games get darker as the game progresses too. I'll check it out this evening.

The 4pm games looked like they were being played on June 21st. I'd kill to have a 1pm game have shade over the entire field by the end of the 3rd quarter. Amazes me how they pay no attention to the time of year.
