Predictions for NHL 23 Cover Athlete

A new game will soon be upon us, and a new cover athlete (hopefully)

There are already plenty of wants and speculations on who should be the cover athlete for NHL 23, so lets go over a few:

Austin Matthews

Yes, i know he is already a 2 time cover guy, but 60 goals? That may have just earned him the first ever 3-peat

Cale Makar

Norris, Conn-Smythe, stanley cup AND a top 20 scorer? Guy has been on a complete tear since coming in, and this year he just added more to his resume. Call me biased, but I think its time for an Avs player to grace a cover...been far too long

Andrei Vasilevskiy

Best goalie on the PLANET, and there is no one even close that can lace up his skates. Plus, when was the last goalie to grace the cover? Marty B in 14? Its due time for the best goalie we have seen in a LONG time grace the cover.

Leon Draisaitl

IMO overshadowed by McDavid, its amazing what he has accomplished by being 2nd in scoring the last 3 seasons. From what i read he is only 10 points behind McDavid. I would be OK with him on the cover.

I also think it will be Makar. Outside shot for Igor Shesterkin since we haven't had a goalie on the cover since NHL 14.
