Man, I miss putting the clamps on people in this game. The most fun I've EVER had playing defense in a 2K.

This was the year where they completely nerfed the zig-zag, where if you tried to do it the ball would bounce off the defender's foot. So you had to actually be nice on the sticks to blow by someone.

I wish we could get back to that. It's so tough playing on-ball D these days.

For the folks over at 2K, it’s a wonderful problem to have -- a much better problem than the alternative.

But it still does present a problem, because once a franchise achieves greatness, each release can feel a bit stale. How do you improve a game many consider to be nearly flawless? Games with huge, glaring issues can at least point to the obvious of what didn’t work and what they are doing to fix the issues for the next release. But that wasn’t the case as we approached the NBA 2K16 release date.

So how did the game stack up against the usual weight of its expectations? How do I feel this season went as we now begin to look ahead to NBA 2K17? Well...

Don’t know why this in my feed but 2k16 was one of the most unrealistic 2K’s I’ve ever played. Insane input delay and overly physics bumps. Last gen destroyed anything before ‘17

15 was the most fun, but 16 was a better game overall. However, as 16 introduced the start of the archetype system, it gets marks against it for that reason.

Conversely, offense felt that much more rewarding with how good the defense was

Yes 2k was & still is the best 2k/ sports game I ever played. It had everything that keep me playing it.

Gameplay was really good and balanced. The DEfense was great. Signature moves, post moves/shots where good. All the players showing a lot of emotion and the player mode graphics were more realistic looking than 17 or 18.

Nba Today worked u could see the highlights from the night before the whole presentation was well put together in the game. Online play was great before the changes in the tier system in 17. Amazing game

Re: NBA 2K16: The Best Game in the Series' History?

2K16 gets points for taking Jordan Rec from 2K15 and turning it into Pro-Am which the community long had a desire for.

On the other hand, 2K16 was the game where Pro-Am transition offense was literally:
  1. Leak + Rebound
  2. Big hits L1+R1 for instantaneous full-court pass
  3. If two or more people downcourt, then kick to the corner for three, otherwise take the layup.
It was like 2 seconds or less offense, it was so strange. And you knew every team used this method because when RTTF began, every week on 2KTV they'd show each player's stats and the bigs would be averaging triple-doubles. Admittedly, I enjoyed having an automatic triple-double every game, but it was silly.

Then 2K dropped a patch in early May that nerfed Break Starter and killed speed boosting before RTTF was streamed.

They do get points for that, but I did not like that they dropped the Jordan rec center completely and it has never found it's way back into the game.

Rep used to be attainable @ the Jordan Rec Center and that was dropped in 16. In addition to that sometimes My crew may only have 3 or 4 on, and we don't want to pick up an AI opponent or a bum(s) for the additional opponents. At the rec center we could essentially "screen" out undesirables.

Jordan Rec center is the only thing 15 had that I wish was still in the game. I greatly miss the ball tangibility in 16. Positioning mattered.

I am so done with 2K18..Going to game stop right now to pick up a copy of 2K16.

In 2k18, i cant seem to find the right difficulty setting. I'm either winning every single game with one setting, or cant win a freaking game for my life on the other. the sliders are way outta wack. I tried everyone's sliders none seem to work cuz this game is just simply broken... Just deleted 2K18 a couple days ago. 2k16 here i come
