If it's 'attached' to the icons, I still think it could work as it pops up around the WR, and would be a quick snap in a particular direction. But, the initial reticle popping up would be in a spot where the WR would normally catch the pass based on the route and when the QB throws. I don't think this would be impossible. The easiest example being running an out. U know your WR is breaking to the sideline, the reticle pops up near the sideline, and u can make a quick adjustment dependent upon what u see the DBs doing.

That being said, I'm starting to think it's not this way. It sounds like it will be a 'click the right stick' if u want the reticle, period, and then u can move it wherever in the field. So, I think you're right in that regard. If someone chooses to use this, they're mostly better off clicking the stick (if this is the case) right at the snap, and then moving about where they think the play will be. Then, the buttons will be different. Maybe, when using the reticle, A is normal pass, B is bullet, Y is lob, etc. Or, I take that back, lol. I guess u could just do A for throw, and allow for the normal mechanics of 'hold for bullet', double tap for controlled pass, etc. So, yeah, I can see that. It will absolutely be an either/or situation, though. But, if done this way, it would allow u to choose what u want to do per play, which is interesting, and could get a little confusing, possibly. Lol. U know? U get used to reticle passing with A button. Then, u have a pass play (maybe, deep balls are better without reticle), u know u want a button push, but u keep hitting that A button!!! Lol. Then, u throw your controller through the tv and blame madden!!!

That second paragraph is exactly how it worked in NCAA and that is how I predict that it will work in Madden as well. I will probably be one of those folks who want to try the new feature and can never get it to work the way I want it but I keep trying and end up losing all my games 49-3, LOL

Lol. No doubt. I might be doing that as well (trying to use it and losing badly!). And, see, that's why my first guess was the 'press the button, then move reticle'. Because, in general, u know where all your WRs are going to be (well, if you're a good QB), so when u press the button, u know about where the throw should be, and then make the quick adjustment. If u have a reticule from the snap, and let's say you're moving around on a short pass, you're just about to throw it, and out of the corner of your eye, u see your deep route is wide open. By the time u get the reticle downfield, you're sacked. That's the one major scenario I see issues with a reticle from the start, in general. I really think it would harshly affect deep balls. Overall, it may depend on how quickly it moves, but this scenario still seems tough to me.

I guess I could also say, vice versa. If u really want to hit a deep ball, u get that reticle deep and find double coverage, by the time u move that reticle short, it's too much time, too late. But, I'll also say that maybe it's just a matter of getting used to. As the QB, I take the snap, I start moving that reticle in a central position to ALL possible routes, and then whip it towards the guy u want to throw to.

I think, at the end of the day, I think of 'what does a real QB look at, or look for?' And, I think that's 2 things. 1. They do look at their WRs, specifically, to see if they're open, and then they fire to a spot near the WR or where they think they'll be able to best catch it (this sounds like my theory, lol). 2. They look at the defense, find an open spot, and throw it when their WR is near the open spot. And/or, I do believe some qbs on some plays absolutely throw to the open spot and hope their WR gets there. Lol. So, with the reticle, u could move it around like that, sort of keeping it in the open spots, and knowing when your WRs will hit the spot and throw it on time.

I sure hope that they give us the option to turn it off because I have a spinal cord injury and have full use of my right-hand limited use if my left and the way the passing is now and I would have a problem using the sticks at the same time.

If it's done like NCAA was done it's not something you'd need to turn on or off. In that game you clicked in on the right stick and it'd activate the reticule. So if you never right-clicked in then you never would access it.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but i can picture the reticule being ratings dependent. I picture a circle on the field. The higher the QB accuracy, the smaller the reticule. If a QB is throwing on the run, the reticule gets much bigger causing the ball to sail in a certain direction in the area.

I'm simply very happy we finally have a new system. Been wanting some variety for a loooong time. Hopefully it's as intuitive as Fevers was.
