Something that I would like to see is a goal that will be disallowed, the goalie argue with the ref prior to it being disallowed.

Also some sort of fatigue rating for goalies that play on and on. Of course possible injury for the goalie of an player controlled team.

Things I'd LOVE to see in the NHL series:
- A Player Search function in Season menus
- A one-click solution -- PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING HOLY -- to jump to a letter in the alphabet when going through the Free Agent list.
- Why can't other games be going on with out of town scores being updated from around the league during season/franchise modes? The Show does this really well. Great during playoff races.
- If I choose player movement from within a season and go to the AHL, why can't the default be to automatically bring up MY TEAM's AHL affiliate? That's gotta be an easy thing to code in, no?

Love the rebranding idea... If its one thing I want the most in a NHL game is being able to upload and use my own team logo I create seeing how I'm a graphic logo designer and love creating my own sports logo concepts. In NBA 2k17 that was one of the main selling points for me (besides being a great game in general) to buy the game. I thought for sure NHL 17 would have added this feature seeing as how many fans want that in the NHL games. (same goes for MLB The Show, would love to upload my own logos)

The ability to create entirely new jerseys in NBA2K is insane.

I dream of the day we get this kind of customization in the NHL series. The ability to create/import custom logos would be incredibly nice for NHL teams, and the international teams. The guy who made that video has an entire series on rebranding the standard NBA teams, and it would be really great to create your own custom rinks and jerseys in the NHL series.

Edit:

And for a more extreme example... That's amazing levels of customization, even if the court makes me want to put glass in my eyes.

Re: Where Does NHL Go From Here?

I like the game and for the first time I'm seriously pursuing a franchise but the obvious downside for me is on 20 minute periods the game has far too much offense. More realism in that area would be welcome but the game is undeniably fun to play.

A nice addition would be a search feature to find players based upon certain criteria.

Re: Where Does NHL Go From Here?

Aside from the gameplay and AI issues I'd like to see fixed...

- Full integration of every league similar to what FIFA has going on.
- Weekly wrap-up show.
- out of town highlights
- for BAP to be on par with NBA2K's.
- expansion and relocation including creating new divisions, conferences and even playoff formats.
- the ability to continue Franchise and BAP from one year to the next, ala The Show.

I can't believe Kenny you are asking for thorne and clement to comeback. I agree that they were very good however that is not how you keep things fresh. If you are going to go in a different direction it would be with a new set of announcers not going backwards. Or how about the ability to choose between two different sets of announcers?
