I hope you will be as pleased with the way this issue is handled in TGC 2 as I am. It's judiciously effective, IMO. I wish I could go into specifics, but the NDA prevents me from doing so.

It's been years since a golf game has come to market that didn't have a short cut to distance control.
I want to control the swing in real time but need a game engine that runs at a high enough frame rate to dial in precise percentages.
Is Unity that game engine on a console?.......not sure about that at this point in time.
Don't want to drop $2000 on a super rig PC either.

Can't comment on the console versions as none of us have seen or played them.

However, framerates on the PC version are far better than what I remember with TGC1.....

Never played the first one. What type of swing options are there? Like analog stick only or is there a version similar the old 3 click system?

There are two options, right or left thumbstick swing, or mouse swing. There was not 3-click option the TGC 1, nor is there one in TGC 2.

I hope they made the swing something other than math. I feel like they nailed putting in TGC1. No meter, no power bar, just feel and experience. That is how the rest of the swings need to play out. It isn't really much of a game when you can get 100% swings almost all the time and then it is just a matter of putting the "math grid box" to 80%, 90% etc. That isn't golf. You need timing, tempo, swing path to judge distance/slice/hook. The old Tiger Woods games did this better.

If they can somehow integrate a swing that can do this (like they do for putting) then we will have a great golf game in my opinion.

Very well said sir - The putting seemed to have the feel and nuance one would desire, but the other swings were just robotic and routine and the outcomes were simply too consistent and simple to achieve.

It really kills a golf game for me when most of the "golf" part isn't interesting and challenging enough over time.
