I experienced a freeze glitch at first base in a online game. My opponent kept quick throwing to first after ball in the dirt. It caused the game to freeze up. I got credited with the win but to go deep into a game and have to experience these freezes is demoralizing.

you didn't score... that's the reason right there they kept him in... if you score 4 or more runs within the first 4 innings the CPU hooks the starter in the 5th, but you have to be leading 4-0 it can't be 4-4 or the CPU thinks its a close game so usees the logic of 'I must keep the starter in then' regardless of pitch counts.

have not played enough games post patch to see if it's even fixed. I don't play QC either but the problem was with both modes originally anyway.

I wanna see if someone can go up 4-0 and see if the pitcher gets hooked in the 5th.

I learned something tonight, I take feedback from these forums with a grain of salt. I read the opinions of the patch while I was at work and it really seemed like a complete disaster. I download it and play and I had a completely different experience. Bat sounds: I see no difference, sounds fine to me. Power: significantly turned down seems much more balanced. Wild pitches: much much better, I've pitched the same way before the patch and WP issue appears solved. I can see and feel a significant difference in the game post the patch. Not sure why so much doom and gloom, seems very odd. I can say 1 thing, I feel like I look at this game objectively and this patch was all I needed. I'm good to go.

The only issue I have with the patch is the weird sound of the ball off the bat. Which has been addressed as it is going to be fixed in the next patch. I could live with it so it's not a deal breaker for me.

Interestingly enough the Stars & Stripes hats were patched in but not the rest of the Stars & Stripes uniforms. I wonder if this will be included in the next patch?

lol. Yes, there is definitely a 'chicken little' phenomenon on these boards which can self-amplify as a bunch of people with a similar mindset start agreeing with one another. I'm sure a lot of the opinions expressed here have some shred of factual basis at least, but sometimes people complain for no other reason than to complain. It's just how people are wired.

You know I agree with most of those sentiments.

But the ball off the bat is clearly off and off badly and was already acknowledged by SDS.

So let's not sit here and make pretend it is our imagination that this happened and is a true bug and by product of this patch.

The entire feel of hitting has been changed due to this audio error, bug or whatever you want to call it.

But it clearly was changed and unintentionally. Every hit sounds and feels like the bat is cracked.

You can't feel if it was weak contact, or if you grooved a ball off the sweet spot off the bat like you could with the game out of the box.


For lack of a better term, it's hideous and a massive wart on an otherwise amazing game.

Thank goodness they are fixing it. Because it is most certainly off.

I have played this game non stop since release and my very first comment on my stream post patch was about this and it came right after the moment I made contact with the ball.

I was like "uh oh Houston we have a problem"

Anyway let's not minimize a serious flaw.

Much like the QC's SP hook issue....this is something tangible and factual. It changed and not for the better and nor was it intended.

It was a bug created from update 1.04.

Actually this is NOT realistic. IRL the manager's give their SP the chance to get themselves out of innings. 90 and 85 pitches is nothing for those two guys.

Irl they would've at the very least got to face one more batter. IF they drove in a run then okay, MAYBE they might yank him, but irl they are goimg to be given the opportunity to get out of the inning.

QC or not this is an issue, even with manager hook at zero like I have.

WP is fixed guys! I've seen strikeouts and swings and misses on balls in the dirt wherr normally the ball gets away. Catcher actually caught the ball!

Also, saw the catcher block a swing a miss strike two at a ball in the dirt with a runner on 1st, no advance. Catcher blocking has been fixed. We still want to see occasional WP so if you see one or two a game I'd say that's very normal.
