For clarification.

For screen help

No help means there will be no hedger

No rotation means there will be a hedger but no rotation behind him.

The way our pick and roll defense is setup there are 3 roles a helper and to rotations guys so it made sense to me that a setting of no help means whoever that help guy is don't come. I had it flipped Mybad

Thanks for checking with the engineers and getting us clarification Czar. I was the one who popped into your stream so i appreciate you following up as you said you would. Maybe next year it should be implemented as the way you explained in your video. It makes more sense to me that way as well.

Yeah I was operating off the assumption that the individual page is based on them as the ball handler so I assumed after your video I had got it wrong.

Clint you're right that there is no "Dont help off" option but when I played the Warriors I just set no help/no rotation (in the entire team setting) or whatever you call it. This worked ok in defending the 3, but it turned into lay up lines. Pick your poison.

But I do love the idea of choosing you help off, and definitely think we need to be shown how these settings work.

I WISH we had, the option to decide whether or not we would like to help off of a player.

Like if I didn't want to help off of KyleKorver for any reason, I wish I could do that

I'll just say you are 100% correct. As a former community guy though whenever I have the choice of spend more time developing a feature and adding more to it or take that same time and work on a teaching feature it is hard to pull the trigger because as a gamer i want the depth of the feature set first. I figure we have enough hoop genius' in the community to teach it and learn it.

The reality is that every moment spent on instructional tools is a moment less available on adding depth and polish to an actual game-play feature. And some of this stuff takes forever just to do something relatively small in scope.

Plus, and this is a big one. Any teaching feature needs front end support IE menu's and such and that line is ALWAYS backed up and game-play team requests for front end are at the way back of the line. So it is difficult to get the resources lined up in addition to what I said above.

But I hear you and I agree in principal it's just when the going gets tuff I often choose put more cool stuff in the game because at the end of the day I'm a gamer.

FWIW I only played with the Clippers, and I rarely dominated with 1 player so would rarely attract double teams. And I saw some defensive AI stuff from ACE that other dudes didnt see. I was loving it; it felt like I was playing a different game to others.

Czar can I suggest a short video clarifying some of the defensite settings for 2K18? Even now, there is dispute about what some do. Not the obvious ones, the ones that were added.

Oh no... what have I done! Please don't be gunshy!!! LOL.

Hey Czar, one suggestion I have for 2K18 that would make this stuff much easier to figure out would be to put ALL of the settings options we have in the normal games in the scrimmage mode.

Off the top of my head, in the scrimmage mode we don't have the defensive settings and we can't use the defensive packages you guys added this year. If I recall correctly, the offensive options are pretty fleshed out in this mode.

For some weird reason, the defensive options are available in the Practice Plays mode, but not the Scrimmage mode.
