Not convinced I could really recommend a friend buy the game until the servers are fixed, as otherwise I don't think we'd stay friends for very long.

If everything was working smoothly I'd say it is an absolute buy if you are an online player, and just about a buy if you're an offline/franchise kind of person. The gameplay has improved so much that you can almost overlook the lack of improvement to Franchise, but that would be very much down to the individual playing.

Exactly this. If you're an offline-only player, it's a must buy.

If you are a baseball fab there is no excuse not to own this game. With a pro and 4k setup and upcoming OSFM rosters its gaming heaven

In addition to the new physics, I really love the presentation this year. The new MLB Network stuff + commentary upgrades are pretty big.

In manage mode unless they fix the problem with balls hit down the foul lines curving foul and infield defense being overpowered for the first time in the series going back to the ps2 I have to say no- not a buy. The only reason to buy is to ensure the series continues but that is a flimsy reason.

In 8 games played 5 games my team had 4 or fewer hits including a no hitter and a 1 hitter.

Other modes I can't speak for.
