I hope the cap isnt the tip of the iceberg and baseball uniforms dont turn into NASCAR uniforms.
I know thats a huge leap, and probably wont happen, but I also never thought caps would become billboards for New Era. For 25 years New Era has been a fine steward of the game but now I'm afraid their bottom line visually negatively affects MLB's on-field product.
And THAT is on Manfred, AFAIC
Oh no, it's such a distraction and takes away so much from the overall aesthetic of the uniform...

I hope it has the "New Coke" effect driving the demand for the classic look. Fingers crossed The Show doesn't include the logo on the throw back caps.

Just wait until Under Armor puts their logo on the uniform chest in 2020. The Show has to do what MLB does but Manifred has made it clear the MLB is open for bu$$iness. I'm trying to just enjoy the game of baseball, this is such a great time of year, but the signage creep is yucky.

I may be wrong, but I think the game froze in the Twitch stream when they missed the bunt because they turned on some sort of "automatic contact" widget, yet they missed.

Maybe it was something else, I don't know.

Best:
1 Ball physics
2 Ball physics
3 Ball physics

Worst (in no particular order):
1 Still no rotating IL schedules
2 Still several uni omissions/mistakes, including on the steelbook
3 Nothing else really merits inclusion in a third slot for me yet. Will wait to see what's revealed in the last few streams.

Failure to upgrade Franchise in any meaningful way for long-time players would deserve a spot there but I haven't been playing Franchise for a while so I honestly can't complain. I sympathize with others who feel let down in this department though.

So long as MLB does away with closeup shots of their marketable talent, we'll be set!

Seriously though, those caps still look like someone's put gum on the side from afar even if you can't make out the logo. They're an aesthetic disaster, particularly patch caps like those since every side of them now has some kind of branding. The Nascar effect mentioned above is already achieved on those caps.

It took less than a day to implement Retro Mode? That's surprising if true as it looks like a fair bit of work. Fair play to them if that's all it took.

It just sticks in the craw a bit because they regularly trot out the "we're a small studio so we don't have the time and people" excuse for not doing things, yet managed to find time to make the gimmick retro mode. If it didn't take any time then fair enough

Re: The Three Best and Worst Things We Know About MLB The Show 17

I was literally just thinking about something I know it will never happen, but for all games not must sports games.

it would be nice to have two separate game releases. I understand that the world as we know it is not the single player anymore it has become a multiplayer online world. that is where the money is and all that but our single player games have gotten shorter and features are taken away or tweaked in some way.

If there was a way to have two full on games released for all genres one full on fully loaded single player disc and one for all the multiplayer stuff online it would benefit everyone.

Sales would double for game companies and gamers would get everything then want from their games... longer more emmersive games...

because when you split your focus into many different areas and shove them all on one game disc you can't build every aspect of each game as you desire it too be.

this is just my .02 and i have felt this way for a while.. and always will be...
