Thanks. Did anybody submit a bug report or do you think that was done by design?

A more realistic way to do stamina would be to base it on pitch count or innings pitched over a period of time. IRL teams sometimes "stretch out" a reliever to convert him into a starter. The opportunity to do that doesn't currently exist in the show.

I believe from one of the interviews with Russell promoting the game last year that this was a design decision. I remember him saying something along the lines of a players running speed or a pitchers throwing speed wont increase over their career, only decrease.

Or i could be imagining all of this.

Yeah I was 90% sure I was wrong on that one, and it had to be longer than '15. Getting old and playing the show every year since 06' with Big Papi on the cover.

Has it been announced anywhere how many different quirks there are?
I wonder if some of them are going to be assigned according to maybe a combination of attribute ratings. Like something with basestealers, someone who has a 90+ speed, 90+ steal ability and maybe a 90+ aggression.
Haha if they win 100 games I will eat you socks! All I'm saying is that they have a vastly better roster than the 2001 mariners. Anything can happen.

If you even compare stats between the 2016 Dodgers and the Mariners, the Mariners offense was better in several areas and the bullpen was much better. The one area the Dodgers win in is starting pitching.

But purely based on team stats, think about this. The 01 Mariners scored 927 Runs and allowed 627. The highest scoring team in 2016 was the Red Sox with 878. For your reference, the Dodgers scored 725. Since Run Differential is what actually wins games, the Dodgers allowed 638. This means the Mariners of 2001 were +300, the Dodgers were +87. I mean, I guess a guy like Seager is going to improve, which will help, but to sit there and say flat out that the Dodgers of 2017 will be hands down better than the 2001 Mariners that won 116.. not sure about that. They definitely weren't supposed to be that good, but they were. Until the playoffs of course, which is typical in Seattle fashion.
Good Points! I just look at that mariners Roster, Bullpen, and rotation and don't see anything that jumps out at me as a special player other than Ichiro and Edgar Martinez. Lets face it. Brett Boone had one superstar year and as we all know he was juicing big time. Baseball was in a different place at that time. One could even argue the game was played different. Do I think the 2001 Mariners were as good as their stats indicate? No. Just like I think the Moneyball A's were not as good as their record indicated with that 20 plus game win streak. A lot that goes into baseball is luck. I think the 2001 Mariners had a shoot ton of luck go their way that season.

As indicated by their 22 win drop off the following two years, finally bottoming out at 64 wins I think in 04'. Were the 2001 Mariners a good team? Yes. Were they the great team there 115 wins indicates? No they were not. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

Design. People complained (with good reason) about all the pitchers throwing 99 mph and having 99 stamina deeper into a franchise mode.

The "opportunity" does exist to interconvert RPs and SPs, it's just that you have to manually edit them to your liking. The game hasn't provided that development option in the past.

Nope, not imagining. It was a design decision for that very reason.

That is generally true but a pitcher stamina can and does change. See Adam Wainwright who went from closer to starter.

Thanks for the reply.
