Yea, it looks like that's the new BP warmup due to sleeve being blank. The thing with SF though, they could have replaced the grey alt and put the Black alt in.

They have to be doing something new in regards to the uniforms because they listed them as a topic for the deep dive. Maybe more mix and match options? At this point after seeing the uniform selection screen we shouldn't expect it to be anything major.

It's not just that. It's that at least since MLB 13, there's been basically no headway at all on changing the stuff in the slots they have. Granted they have tried to get the new alternates n' stuff in game, but not the throwbacks.

Those Indians throwbacks are the same 'ol ones that have been in there for years. I don't mind the 1976 ones (wish the navy alternate from the 70s was there), but again... it's the lack of changing what's even there.

I will give them credit on one thing, from the Gamestop preview, it seemed they finally fixed the Cubs 1984 Road Throwbacks back to the correct... everything. The name & number are again on the back, like in MLB 13, and the pants are white (seemed white), with the red piping, which is how they are supposed to look.

I just hope that they don't, again, have those blank old old jerseys. I just don't get it. It's a blank home & road jersey for the Cubs, when maybe the 70s powder blues could be there, or something else.

Does anybody know how extensive the Style Guide goes into throwbacks? Or is there something we're missing?

Again

Why bother? Missed opportunity. This might be the first time they should issue a patch for the jerseys, when they normally don't.

Holding out hope that there's more to explain on the 23rd...
They also will be button up, and probably will have numbers on the back for every team, so they will have multiple errors.

Another crazy fact, they had to create all these from scratch. The ST jerseys for most teams are pretty much replicas to one of their current alternates. So it would have been less work to put in the ST jerseys.

Another thing with the no changes to jersey slots - Diamondback fans get screwed over again.

Agreed. I wonder sometimes if SCEA are forced by the license to push certain things in order to sell merch? It may be a stretch, but surely they have to know this wasn't going to go over well with their diehard fanbase, especially considering player models & uniform slots have been two of the biggest complaints for years.

And uniform slots seem to be an even easier fix for them, than the player models, and they went after player models.

Head scratcher for sure. Hopefully there's more to it, and I give them credit, they've made leaps & bounds this year in the player models and credit to them. Last year they made leaps & bounds in the stadiums.

But barring any unforseen changes, we've probably got less than a month before code freeze, this s**t has GOT to be changed in 18 and in the future. As a long timer since MLB 06, it's something I can no longer deal with going into the future after 17.

Sorry to all those RTTS players, but i'd much rather have more MAJOR LEAGUE uniforms in the game, than randon who gives a damn minor league jerseys taking up precious disk space, as well as these non-real life-usable BP jerseys just taking up space, as well as the other older blank jerseys, just taking up space.

If there's something about the style guide I don't get, then I apologize in advance, but from my point of view, with the one and only template, I do not get why they are bound by SCREWING UP the look of the BP jersey to get it in the game, but to get the damn thing right would be a violation of the rules.

This imo has nothing to do with MLB nor SCEA. This has to do with someone in Sony's legal/business department that doesn't understand the logistics and verbage of the license, and that dog has gotten kicked all the way down to the fans.

No way 30 MLB teams can't get their style guide right, yet every year make millions in Merchandise with the same style guide and guess what... they get it .... right.

What if there are more uniform slots to be revealed and BOTH these BP and the new spring training jerseys are in the game

From what we saw, there is very little chance of that. They already showed the uniform selection screen.

The hit variety due to new ball physics looks insane this year. Very happy with what I saw in the limited gameplay.

Hey Ramone, first of all I think you're one of the best community managers/devs out there. Your connection to the community is an example for other teams.

Having said that I think in 15 you guys made great strides in the colour palette and then in 16 the fields/grass (not the stadiums!) got almost back to the way they looked in 14.

I took an (almost) exact shot of Comerica Park from The Show 15 and 16. Same month, 4pm game, clear skies.

It could be updated lighting engines, the way the sun reflects off the grass etc. but in 15 I truly (for the first time) felt I was playing a midsummer game because of the vivid colours.
