not a fan of NBA2k17,
but I say we have to give the developers credit for trying to address alot of issues.
The game-play change this year were obviously massive. Im sure that even the developers didnt even know how some patches would effect other parts of the game-play.
anyone-who has worked with developing software knows that patches has the possibility of breaking other things.

In the end, I think 2k took on more than it could handle with these changes. If they cant iron out some key issues, I wouldnt be surprised if they role some things back in next years title.

I told you guys several times that patching a game is always dangerous even games in development for several years have patches. And some things are too dangerous to patch. They just are.

So for developers it can seem like a no win situation.

Also as a side note. Some of the gameplay stuff that used to require a patch we are able to do through roster updates. That is why some of the gameplay patch notes have seemed light because some stuff was done though other means.
Man, that sounds interesting considering what the number one complaint is. Pretty sure they thought about testing out a momentum patch and they ultimately decided against it.

Reminds of when relentless finisher was patched . Then it was broken and had to be fixed again with a menu update the next day.

The bolded part here is what makes me sad.

I understand your logic...sometimes when something doesn't work or needs to be fixed/addressed you have to take a step back to truly go forward and the community just does not recognize that regardless of whether you explain it in full disclosure.

I'll post this here too, in case some devs can help:


Since patch 1.10 came out, we are facing HUUUUUGE problems with the matchmaking in PRO-AM.


We wait somenthing like 30 minutes in the arena, but an opponent cannot be found.


We had to quit pro am two days in a row because of this.


Does anyone else having the same problem?
Any fix for it?


FYI, we are Elite team and are from Europe.

I'm gonna hold you to this Da_Czar lol

I'm really hoping that all gameplay and especially collisions of all types are dramatically improved in 2k18. There was a temporary fix with some sliders and body up sensitivity but since the last few patches and/or gameplay tuning updates its really messy still and inconsistent.

I understand what you're saying though about holding the L but its important that the L is only for one year.

There is no easily accessible manual that translates these things into a digestible format and I think a manual would in fact temper a lot of these complaints that we have.

I gotta agree on this one. Or at least let that damn thing be hidden. I've been really hindered by this in online and offline games and I've loaded the game up fresh from the beginning too.

Seriously. I really believe that a lot of the heat comes from ignorance of the mechanics in the game.

The tools they give you (2KU) are insufficient in educating the user on how to effectively work the mechanics of this game. As it is right now, it is up to the community and our general user base to inform and educate others on how these mechanics work. Often this takes months into the game because we have to learn these mechanics ourselves.

I remember when people were trying to figure out how to unlock tireless scorer with their myplayers. I think it took a couple of months for the general user base to figure out that tireless scorer was not unlocked by scoring with a red bar, but by hitting a number of "difficult" shots. 2K could have broken this down in a manual and saved the general user base the additional headache and I think their neglect (which can be illustrated elsewhere in this regard) really contributes to what could easily be perceived as hostility towards the devs.

I also wonder if this isn't what 2K actually sets out to do. I've been playing 2K sport games for years. My favorite game of all time is All Pro Football 2K8 and I will never forget how that dev team neglected to educate the user on so many of the "advanced" controller functions. Perhaps the strategy is to encourage dedicated users to educate themselves outside of their direct interaction with the game in order to create a more diverse playing field.

does anyone elses game still freeze at the team logo start up? its a digital download so i dont know why it keeps happening ill uninstall it and it will work for a day and day 2 i cant play it wtf 2k
