And hey from there it's a pretty short jump to letting us change the fighters in a matchup...
id rather not do that. thats more for event mode.

Re: EA Sports UFC 3 Confirmed

I'll try to say this without typing a giant post, but I just want a more true to life representation of the sport. A game that makes us laugh at how ridiculous something like UFC 2 was in comparison. Where you're focused on landing one strike rather than spamming combos to be robo-parried. Give us STRATEGY. Actually make this game feel like a chess match of sorts.

Stamina and momentum need to be a thing. The stamina system in UFC 2 is absurd. Momentum is also ridiculous, as every fighter is automatically the same weight and strength. You can perform a takedown at practically any point of the fight. You can block a takedown with a simple flick of a stick. Those animations are terribly unrealistic. There should be a battle for a takedown, and if someone comes into you and you block it, there should be a battle there in the clinch.

Need to do better with the damage system too, but that's also a striking issue which we all know needs a full on re-tooling. What I mean is when you get rocked but not KO'd, there needs to be more of an impact from that. Your stamina should be cut in half for a while, your movements should be more sluggish, the "health event" basically needs to be a lot more fleshed out than the fighter staggering backwards briefly (while always staggering perfectly away from you). More KO animations would be great, as well as TKO animations where the ref actually does something to justify their appearance in the game.

As for fighters, I don't care about how many people you can fit into one roster. You can cut out probably like 20% of this past year's roster, as they really aren't needed in the game. No we don't need Bruce Lee or Mike Tyson or a number of the legend fighters they put in. Make that stuff DLC and worry about it after the release. Instead of trying to get the most fighters possible in the game, how about you focus on every fighter actually being their own fighter? I know that's going to involve way too much work, or so they'd say, but that's why UFC 2 plays so soulless. Everyone is the same on the ground. Everyone is the same on the feet. Ratings matter a LITTLE BIT, but not really. This is more than just a ratings issue though, this is animations to support one fighter being different from another. Think of it as playing a class-based game, lots of games do this now because that's exactly what the audience wants, the freedom to play as something different from one character to another.

Content-wise, I'm all for a Universe mode over Career mode. Especially with such a pointless career mode as UFC 2. A much deeper CAF would be appreciated, too. If you're going to stick with the pre-set formulas, then you need A LOT more pre-sets. Otherwise, there needs to be body-morphing (this would be much better). Along with more hairstyles, tattoos, etc.. And how about an actual names database? You can't even give your fighters a first name to be announced for god's sake. More names, more ways to personalize your CAFs with entrances, pre-fight rituals, post-fight rituals, etc..

Basically, think of UFC 2 as an inaccurate blueprint of the game you want to make, and now you have to build A LOT while adapting from that blueprint if you want to make a truly good game. The only thing I'd give UFC 2 that it did very well compared to other franchises is graphics.

You'd rather us not have that option? You wouldn't have to do other fights, you would just be able to if you wanted.

Yeah, I don't think that makes a lot of sense. In career mode, you're role playing a fighter as he progresses through his career.

It doesn't really make sense, or add anything to career mode to be able to play other fights that aren't your own fighter.

That's what event mode is for. To play through events.

As a option then why not but i still think you shouldnt be allowed to use fighters in the same weight class as your career fighter.

If he's saying Career mode should be more of a franchise mode or universe, where you can play as any fighter to control the outcomes of their fights, who the champions are, what the rankings are, etc, then I agree.

Re: EA Sports UFC 3 Confirmed

Career mode def needs an overhaul. It should be just that, and feel like it.

Start as an amateur, become a pro, either sign for TUF or another organization, work your way into being offered a contract with the UFC, can accept at current value, or decline, make a bigger name for yourself and get a higher value contract, if you lose during that period, then win a few more in a row, get another contract as final offer with lower falue than the starting. At this point you go into more details. More in-depth training and sparring, , once you hit main card status, start to make a name for yourself.

Choose how you act, if you're the loud mouth like Conor, or a quiet guy like Pierre, how you act before/after a fight determines how fast you rise in the ranks as well as how exciting/boring of a fighter you are, and how many fans you earn. Add in weigh-ins, social media, press conferences.

As far as actual gameplay, striking needs a huge overhaul, grappling is good in ufc 2 so I'm glad to see GPD taking this up now. Let's make the main emphasis on movement and timing. Get rid of the combo multiplier, or if you keep it, lessen the % and make it to one area. Punching the body twice shouldnt make my legs or head take more damage. Remove parry or improve it. Parrying a jab shouldnt allow for a free headkick or such nonsense. Nor should you be essentially stunned and at the oppenents will for x seconds. You parried my jab with my lead left. My right hand isnt locked in place, I can still block with it. A fight shouldnt consist of someone walking forward, hands up blocking, spamming parry for a free kick or overhand. It should be about landing that perfect shot, slipping and countering, or wearing your oppenent down with pressure and volume.

Lets add more cage work as well. Default clinch shouldnt be thai against the cage either, doesnt look right. Especially when the fighter doesnt even have the thai clinch option outside of single collar transition. Add cage walking for getting up, you somewhat have it now with over under when near the cage, but Id like to see the cage sitting, on your ***, back to the cage. Could allow the dom to go for mount or a submission, along with just regular striking, and the sub to scramble to get up or try and reverse and sweep.

Standng guillotine would also be nice, as well as the addition of a few more subs. It would also be cool to see some subs have a way to break out thru force, triangle esspecially, people have been slammed before to get out. If limb damage has no affect on the gate speed or how fast a transition for a sub takes, I say remove the part where subs turn a body part red. How does getting put into an arm triangle, and breaking out on the last gate(or being let out) make it so 1 punch will KO me?

And lastly, 2 things. Fix the movesets and stats. Claudia Gadehla and Michelle Waterson, as well as a few others, have the omaplata from rubber guard, but cannot get into the rubberguard transition. Amanda Nunes, has a 69 TDD stat. The next lowest is like 80 for the lowest rated WBW... how can that be right?

Ultimate Team. Fix matchmaking, fix athleticism for styles, chin and body are horrible if anything but a boxer. Add more hair styles, beards, tattoos etc. Make it a little easier to improve your stats without needing to spend money. Ive played since release and my highest rated fighters are 91-92. For Ground moves, have the cards tell what new moves are added. If I go from default wrestling transitions, to level 5, what do I get? What sweeps do I get upping my wrestling or bjj? I still don't know what ground or sub move gives you the counter guillotine reversal from sprawl, or the takedown reversal into a takedown? What lvl moves gives you rubberguard, or the side control from rubberguard?

Oh, one more thing. Make the ref actually do something. Add stand ups after XX seconds if nothing is being done to improve position or only baby strikes thrown. Lower the speed for how fast people are busted up, add the rare chance for doctor stoppage due to cuts, or remove that commentary. Hearing how the fight should be stopped cause someones face is hanging off is pointless when nothing ever happens. Make leg kick checks damage the kicker, if checked too much they risk being injured(leg health event) or breaking their leg. ADD DRAWS and fix judging!

Re: EA Sports UFC 3 Confirmed

What I hope is gone from UFC 3 is the long drawn out animations when my opponent is getting back to his feet from the ground and even if my fighter gets up first in the animation I still have to wait for him to get back to his feet and set himself.

I just wanna get up and go after my opponent when he is still trying to get off the mat. I hate playing this waiting game every time and having my fighter magically frozen till the game says so.
