Re: EA Sports UFC 3 Confirmed

as a potential customer I feel we have a right to know if quick match is open rank before game comes out since it affects ability to find online matches.

Being able to not have hooks in in some instances of back flat postured up would be be in 3rd game.

I think it is time for a transition based submission system. . .

Maybe that with another input of some sort to squeeze or crank.

Re: EA Sports UFC 3 Confirmed

Yes, parries happen IRL, but this game isn't exactly sim. If parries are kept, which lets face it, they will be. Then they should be tweaked. The strike you parry should determine how much stun/counter time there is.

I would assume, as I never trained myself, that parrying a jab, doesnt leave you enough counter time to throw an unblockable headkick.

So, for strikes, maybe if you get parried, counter time varies depending on strike thrown, but only leaves you open on that side? I throw an overhand right, you parry, my right side is now open, but my left hand/arm is still free to block?

Kicks are a different thing, if you parry a knee, or push kick/teep etc, than the counter side should allow for a strong strike. You throw a front kick to the body, I parry, push your leg to the side/side step it, counter with a power shot as they're now completely off balance. Parry a leg kick? Make that a more powerful leg check that deals damage to the kickers leg...

My issues with parries game wise, is you have people that walk around holding block, doing nothing but parrying, looking for the counter strike. Parry, overhand, parry, overhand, regardless if it was a jab, straight, kick, anything. It's not realistic and looks stupid as fook. And the fact parry counters do so much damage, its going to stagger, rock or drop you constantly

Re: EA Sports UFC 3 Confirmed

Would really like to see KO mode online of some sort, maybe sub mode etc.

Definitely would like to see parries re worked not removed like shifts were mostly removed for ufc 2.

Would like to see shifts, clinching strikes and parries (catch punch like catch kick, ud3 had this), traps and wraps, preemptive parry (paw, probe, post etc), collision clinch, clinch defense stance, submission position etc.

Re: EA Sports UFC 3 Confirmed

My suggestion for ufc 3 easter egg. Knowing my luck gpd will include it, but then not make quick match open rank to teach me a lesson.

I like this post a lot, but that one part is a little bit off.

For example
-assuming both fighters are orthodox-
If you throw a lead Jab with your left hand, I'm going to parry that with my rear right hand, the most common follow up strike to that parry is a left straight, or check hook.

If your southpaw, and i'm orthodox, where our lead hands are on the same side, i'm parrying your lead Jab with my lead left, and countering with a right straight.

So basically if I parry with my left hand, i'm most likely countering with my right hand. And vice versa.
---------------------

For the most part your post is dead on though. Each strike needs to have different parry windows, and different counter windows to really make parry realistic.
