Still waiting for it to drop on XB1. Frustrating to say the least

If you're relying on hall of fame dead-eye, then that means you're taking too many contested shots.
deadeye is a late close out badge, not a contested shot badge. I don't play in park or pro-am, but a late closing defender shouldn't smash shot grade down down to d's & f's if you have HoF deadeyes and 99 contested shot rating.

Apparently this is going to happen all year, PS4 will get patches weeks before XB1 for whatever stupid reason.

It will only get worse for you guys, PS4 just hit 50+ mil sold.
Developers will focus more on it, timed exclusivity and network features.

Those players perceive NBA 2K as a Call Of Duty game with perks and loadouts, and not as a basketball game.

It seems to me that some core aspects of gameplay design cater to those players, and it makes it really difficult for us offline folk to tune and roster fix that stuff out. The online sim crowd has it much worse.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Maybe not a D and F, but as I've said before it really depends. We can't tell people to get better at defense and in the same breath, complain about not being powerful enough when you do get defended. As I've said I want to see specific examples if people think it's being nerfed because everyone's definition of a good one is different. A sharpshooter is there to help space the floor and create easier opportunities for everyone else and I see a lot of them out there not playing the right way, mostly due to overdribbling.

We get our shooters curling off screens or get them good shots from team ball movement and when they're open, they're open. I know what you mean by late contest as opposed to full on contest, but we shouldn't accept that it's a good shot just because ratings say so...there are many different times where I see a contest coming but the shooter takes it anyways, when the better play was to be patient and hunt for a better shot. Or shot fake, one dribble in for a stop and pop.

Some games they shoot like *** but most games they don't. The way it's supposed to be. I know you didn't mean it this literally, but having a contested shot rating in the 90s doesn't mean you hit them at the same rate as a you do a good open shot. When I see my teammates take it like that and make it I never say "good shot" it's more "we got bailed out by the badges there".

At the end of the day I hope they get rid of the badges. I don't like it when relentless finishers drive, miss a contested layup, and wonder why relentless finisher is broken. Or when a shot creator takes a contested moving shot and wonders why hall of fame mid range dead eye didn't work. Yes nba players make those shots but you'll never see a coach saying "yeah that's what I want from my offense", plus those aren't supposed to go in as much so it's bizarre when I see panic after two contested misses in a game. Anything to promote better teamwork is good by me.

I would take video for you to highlight it, but to be honest, I only play on HoF, and having a defender stuck to my side for 95% of the time i'm on the court has realy killed this career, especially when at the same time my own team mates just leave anyone open to shoot. CPU can obviously run a defensive scheme where the best shooter is shadowed to the point of making it painful, so it should be able to stop leaving the best shooters open for the other team. With that in mind, I can't face playing anymore of that save unfortunately. It's just a slog of a save to play, even though I win every game.

I wasn't saying that those ratings should cover up the sins of bad players with the 99 comment, but it sure as hell imo shouldn't kill that attribute/badge combo. I don't think it's a coincidence that these fixes have been implemented at the time that euro pro-am is starting. 2k don't want this mode being shown as just a terrible shots contest till someone wins. I get that, I really do. But you can't give us these archetypes, which give us one set of skills, and one set only (whichever one we choose), then a few months later, take out major parts of the armoury. If the guys at 2k didn't see what the issues would be with such a system before going ahead and implementing it, then thats a company issue, not a user issue. Anyone with half a brain could work out the game would consist of sharpshooters hiding behind screens and jacking up shots. What I will say about contested shooting, is that 2k hasn't yet found out how to make it work realistically. 2k gave us the attributes and badges to be the best shooters (contested or otherwise) of all time, yet look at the contested shots the pro's make on a nightly basis playing on real life Hof difficulty.

I agree completely with what you say about people taking bad shots, but then park and pro am are just a mashup of people spamming the same dribble moves and taking terrible shots, which is why I don't bother with those modes.

I expect the game will be relaxed again after rttf is finished.
