Re: Madden NFL 17 Title Update #7 Available Now, Here Are The Details

Thanks Rhudey, Please let me know who you used and what your results were. I am going to experiment with Kessler from the Browns tonight. I did this with him earlier, I dropped his Deep throw Acc to 30. Not only could he rarely complete a deep throw, he seemed not to want to throw deep. I had earlier raised his deep throw acc to 95 and that's all he wanted to do.

Now this is only a difference of two games, and I only played a little into the third quarter then exit game and play it over. But I seen what I needed to see and it was a huge difference. Playing the same team, the same GP.

This game I am going to raise his Short throw acc too 99, and then in the next game I am going to lower it to 20.

I am convinced that player ratings and styles do effect how they play but to what extent you have to go to change them is my only question.

I actually spend far more time testing than playing because I can't stand the punt issue ruining my enjoyment of my Franchise. Once the punt issue is fixed, If ever, I think I will have a very good game, until then it is test after test. But i do enjoy that part of it.

This game doesn't simulate bad decisions by lower tier quarterbacks, but making them "inaccurate" in order to struggle is not "sim" if that's what you are looking for.
I don't think it's as much making them inaccurate simply for the sake of struggling as much as it's just part of the game that isn't represented greatly when it comes to Madden. QB's are going to throw bad passes, it's a guarantee every single week whether it's Brady, Kessler, Kaepernick or Rodgers. It's just a fact. Accuracy isn't the sole factor in what makes or breaks a QB but I think it plays a big role.

Spoiler

Does Jake Locker stick that throw? I doubt it. There's but a handful of QB's that can drop dimes like that but in Madden with Alex Smith I can just chuck it all over the field without much of a worry. And conversely I can watch mediocre QB's shred me in the same way and be perfect for entire games. It's something that goes deeper than just tuning accuracy and I don't think it's something they legitimately view as a problem so I highly doubt it will be addressed in 17 or even 18 for that matter.

So, between the last patch I DL'd for this, and the new one, I hoped the kicking issues would be fixed.

They aren't.

Did they just take the month off?

Tdawg3782... That was a great post. True or not true, it is a great theory and really something to think about. It does make sense. But if this logic is true, Then it would seem to be the only way to play Madden would be all pro. If it is true that all Madden boost the CPU team hidden ratings, and Rookie dumb's down the CPU team. Then something has to change. So what changes, Ratings.? If that's the case, then ratings in ALL MADDEN would actually be a false reading for the human team and ratings would be a false reading in rookie mode. It would seem the only times player ratings would actually be as read would be in all pro.

Roady, you may be correct, I don't remember that, but through my own test, I can tell you for certain that some ratings and styles positively make a difference. Then again, we all have our own theories and findings. I am only trying to make the game play better for my style of play, My findings might not be what others are looking for. I am trying to tune up my own car so to speak and if it helps others. That's great. I think the only people that can actually tell us what sliders, player ratings, and other functions of the game do is the game designers themselves.. And like the BUSH'S beans dog.. They ain't talking

Anyway, kaliib said Awr is kind of a tier system where if it's high enough the player will play at the level his attributes actually state. If it's lower they will not play to their potential. I've found this to be pretty accurate even when human controlling players.

King has stated he thinks QB Awr plays into how the opposing defense plays. So a high Awr QB effectively dumbs down the defense and a low Awr QB ups the defensive intensity.

Just food for thought.

It would be really cool if this is true but I swore I just read a tweet from one of the developers saying to the contrary.

I haven't been able to play post patch, and I am hoping the patch didn't make other areas of the game out of whack.
This has been my exact experience, but I know that it hasn't been the same for others.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
