Was it a limited-time open beta? If so, maybe the beta has ended.

Can anyone tell me if this game has a day one patch, if so how big was/is it?

My knock on Infinite Air would be that I wish there were more features in addition to the challenge mode. The courses in the game are awesome, but there's just not enough of them. Like Golf Club, the game relies heavily on created content. I don't have a problem with this, but you have to weed through a lot of garbage to find gems. Everything about playing user courses or with other people in real time feels poorly put together to me. I still love the game, though. Making a nice run on a great course feels awesome. I just hope HB provides it with good support in the future to build on what they have.

I haven't played Snow. No idea how that is.

My impression is different i loathe infinite air and feel that steep is the heir apparent to ssx in some ways

and yet to me steep feels more like skate

Thanks, I think that's it. I didn't realize but the official game came out yesterday.

Re: Steep Open Beta Available Now (UPDATE)

Is there a thread here for this game? Or is this it?

Gonna dive in tomorrow, hopefully it will tide me over while I wait for snow to fall.

Re: Steep Open Beta Available Now (UPDATE)

I bought it too, planning to give it a go tomorrow afternoon/eve. I didn't play the beta, but I'll post some impressions on Tuesday probably. I'm a big skier, and there are just so few games like this nowadays. I played SNOW a bit and thought it was kinda bad, haven't played Mark McMorris but I don't really snowboard more than once or twice a year (if that) so this seems more up my alley.

The last game I had with skiing in it was Johnny Moseley Mad Trix. LOL, that game was such trash.

I'm about 20 hours into the retail and I played another 20 or 30 on the beta. I played the beta on Xbox one but bought it for PS4 pro. The game definetly has a better frame rate and no draw in at all on the pro but the game is absolutely gorgeous on either system.
This game is definetly not for everyone and I expect mixed reviews because some people just won't "get it". If you do though it's absolutely incredible. The best way to describe it is a massive open world go anywhere, do anything game mixed with the game trials. No loading times and instant respawns. The problem is a lot of people need guidance and a more direct do this challenge then this challenge kind of approach to games or they get bored and I think some people will feel that steep is boring because it really is up to you to make the best out of the world they've given you. Im the kind of guy that likes to find unique lines and do them over and over and over till I nail it and with no loading times and a massive world to explore steep is perfect for me. That's exactly what I did in the skate series and it's been since then that I've been missing that aspect in gaming.
