Offline vs CPU:

I have my CPU 3PT Success slider at 40, yet the CPU still hits them at a high clip.

Any recommendations on a good slider?

They're "overpowered" in the sense that sagging off bad shooters isn't a viable tactic. The game gives too much of a boost for simply "being open", so you'll see Westbrook etc. drain a disproportionately high amount of 3's.

Add in the stacking effect of badges like Dimer, Catch and Shoot, Corner Specialist, Pick and Roll Maestro, Pick and Popper etc etc. and you get a far too high percentage of 3's being made, especially online when every build can get every badge (even bronze makes a big difference).

Someone having the timing down perfect for the shooting form is just another extra boost, too.

So yes, they are overpowered.

There are currently 37 players, in the real NBA, shooting 40 % or above from 3. (at this point in the season)

Players nowadays are shooting and making more 3 pointers than ever.

The question is do we want 2k to mimic the real life 3point shooting or to have its own reality?

UPDATE: Ok, not more than ever. I went back to 1995 and the league was still lighting it up

More than ever is still accurate. I think 1995 is when they moved the 3 point line in so percentages went up for a couple years.

On HOF human vs human the 3's feel about right to me.
On HOF vs CPU I don't think the CPU make enough open shots. Ju

over powered kis the wrong term.
I dont think its properly balanced. there are too many times on fastbreaks where the first shot that is attempted is a 3. alot of times it will be a 2 on 0 fastbreak and they still pull up for the 3.
I personally feel that 2k15 represents what the NBA looks like today. teams shoot enough organic/ in the flow 3s and the teams make them at realistic % also.
2k17 is just unrealistic in that aspect. there is no strategy/ rhyme or reason for chucking 3s. its ugly and very arcade-like in my opinion.

I dont think that the three's in this years game is overpowered. I just think certain players are overpowered and I also think that the shot meter definitely needs tweaking because shots taken with just a sliver of unshaded section in the shot meter miss! and shots taken with at half shot meter bar or 3/4 of the shot meter bar go in!!
