I second the AI improvement. It seems like our EASHL D are complete morons while our opponents' will squirrel their way out of anything. I'd also love the ability to select what style players our AI line mates are. The ability to save strategy settings from game to game seems like s no brainer, but yet it is not available. You can in HUT but not EASHL. Finally, what my team sees as some sort of ping assist that gives us insurmountable lag since we have good connections. My ping is consistently 10ms yet it feels like I'm driving a train some games.

We NEED to be able to edit stats DURING GM mode..that way we can keep up with the current roster edits...why is this so difficult? It's been in MLB The Show since day 1....nothing more frustrating than starting a season and wanting to boost a players attributes based on real life and having to start all over to do so..

I think the gameplay of the series is pretty solid rn.

Still alot of AI issues but regardless the game with some slider adjustments just looks like hockey.

However its time they took a year to flesh out all the game modes and update them to the standards 2k and Sony currently present.

Give both GM and EASHL equal treatment this game needs a proper single player option to the mulitplayer modes.

GM mode need roster share, sliders and a real scouting tool.

I always think gameplay should come first. In saying that A.I. Still need a lot of work. It's getting better but you still scratch your head a lot of the time. That plus ratings need to be wider still or have more impact then they do now. In saying all this I'm highly enjoying this years game.

Re: Where Does NHL Go From Here?

They need to work on adding individuality to players. Since there are only 6 guys on the ice at a time they should really focus on players feeling different.

This seems to be an EA issue though as Madden has the same problem. I think adding a trait/badge system similar to NBA2K would do wonders for the series.

However I'm also worried that the move to Frostbite will involve another year or two of them making a million excuses for why the game seems to be stuck in the mud in terms of innovation or change.

I'm one of those people that thinks they really need a fresh new dev team but NHL sells just enough for them to justify the current regime.
