Beating the Warriors in NBA 2K17

When Kevin Durant announced he was signing with the Golden State Warriors, it turned the NBA world upside down. Fresh off a season where they set the NBA single-season wins record, had the first unanimous MVP and came within a Kyrie and Iguodala of winning back-to-back titles, the Warriors went ahead and added a former MVP and one of the most dynamic scorers to ever play the game. The move was universally regarded as one of, if not the most significant, free-agent signings of all time -- all but guaranteeing the Warriors the 2017 NBA title.

For video game fans, KD to the Warriors affected something even greater: NBA 2K. In NBA 2K16, the Warriors were already borderline unfair to use. With Steph and Klay, arguably the two best shooters of all time, alongside Draymond Green, the proverbial NBA Swiss army knife, anyone who ran with the Warriors in 2K16 had a clear statistical advantage over their opponent (especially after some late patches).

I had success with every team that I have used against the Warriors. They key is to be active on defense. Fpr example, if you see a guy coming off of a screen, then its obvious that, that shooter is probably going to get the ball. Work to cut those passes of.

Defense is a game of give and take. Whatever you take away, you give up something. So, if you take away the 3 point shot, then expect the paint to be open. Guys are going to get their shots but its up to you to decide who you are ok with beating you.

Did you really just call Klay the best shooter of all time.

I probably beat the Warriors 10-15 times (or more?) with the 76ers last year in PNO games. Sometimes the users even knew what they were doing!

Definitely have to be active on defense. Have to stay on your toes on that end, for sure, and be prepared for an early onslaught of pace + 3 point shooting.

On offense you just have to take good shots. Don't rush anything and wait for the defense to make a mistake. Trust me, they will, and when they do you take advantage of that.

I have honestly never looked at defense like this, and I'm glad this perspective is offered. In 2K, I always thought if I shut down the perimeter then I can shut down the paint... "****, I shut down the perimeter and they scored in the paint..." or vice versa. I like the idea that I have to be willing to pick and choose my battles.

I beat a Warriors user online with the Knicks. Just simply roam with a big. Most users online are trash and try to shoot all 3.
