For example Sigames with Football Manager or Codemasters with F1 2016. They can have updates every week.

No Man's Sky had a crazy amount of patches. To 2K's credit , there was a time the game would stay broke until Xmas and patch 4 was quits. That is one of the best things about being in Esports, the game has to be proper .

I played every version of football manager from cm1 (on the old amiga) right through to fm12, but aren't those updates more like the regular and necessary roster updates employed by 2k, as opposed to serious gameplay addresses?

So whats happening here?

Could it be that for some reason background or "ninja" patches were not possible and now since 1.05 they are functioning again!? And that 2K is now fixing stuff like the relentless finisher badge in the next few hours? ...basically like they did a few weeks back?
