Re: EA Sports Stats Show FIFA 17 Fans Love The Journey Mode, Do You?

I've been playing it off and on since the game's release, and honestly there is a lot wrong with this game mode. The biggest issue is that it feels like we have what should be a two- to three-season storyline crammed into a single season — and I wonder if it actually DID start out as a multi-season storyline. That's the only way I can explain the Gareth Walker character and how he turns into such an egotistical *** so quickly. His character progression honestly makes no sense. Six months into his first season of professional football and he is requesting a transfer?

And Alex Hunter, for all the build-up surrounding him in the lead-up to the game's release, all of the hype that he was going to be this incredibly promising talent, starts out rated far too low. He starts out at about a 61/62 overall, and some of his stats make little sense. You're told to use your pace to get in behind tiring center-halves when making your first appearance, yet both your acceleration and sprint speed start out in the mid- to upper-70s. Not exactly slow, sure, but not what I would think of if a player is described as having pace. (This, I suppose, goes into the way EA seems to think pace grows in a player.)

Haven't bothered.

I gather people played it just for the FUT card at the end.

Just like the rest of FIFA 17, the Journey is disappointing. Your choice of team has no bearing on the story, your performance also seems to mean little. You are going to get loaned out no matter your team or the goals you get. FIFA 17 is a disaster in my book and I've barely touched it.

I haven't even tried the Journey Mode yet. I've been having too much fun in career mode.
