Ettnolbajen says that gameplay has changed for the better (see his post on the tactic thread).

I will have a closer look at it later today!

First. Your option file doesnt get "hurt" lol

Second gameplay IS better more players standing up str8 if that akes any sense no hunching.

STILL generic adboards EVERYWHERE totally still take away from the games gameplay. EYESORE. was acceptable on older versions NOT 2017

have no clue on importing multiples as i dont want to lose what ended up staying put

It doesn't seem as bad as before, and it seems like they have the Attack/Defence levels tweaked better around the teams tactics. Counter attack passing teams are more likely to go orange and Green when they have the ball. And Possession passing teams seem to stay on blue and green when they have the ball. Also the game seems a little more faster (or fluid?) on -1 than it did before the patch. Still have to get more games with it tonight.

Here is the mentioned video. Not perfect obviously but I definitely noticed it while playing. Like, oooh, there is pressure on me back here and they aren't gegenpressing.

In the video link, you can see Vidal (playing as Chelsea's RB, ML getting crazy these days!) step up and stay there to cut out the pass down the sideline (at 31:04). If you watch the whole video (especially first half) you can see this happening, usually 1 but sometimes 2-3 extra guys (other than the CF) will stay up to cut passing lanes or track midfielder back. This is with the out of possession formation set so they only have one striker (RW or LW are pushed back to become RMF or LMF).

Re: PES 2017 Patch 1.02 & Data Pack 1 Available Now

I am currently testing it with some of the worst default tactics in the game (no fluid formation), me Milan AC against Juventus.
It seems the instant retreat only happens once a team has secured ball possession. If the ball is still a 50/50 ball, like in Demend example, there is no retreat which is nice (I am not sure if it was any different before patch). If a team has secured the ball, instant retreat happens but may be, may be, not as bad as before. It seems less players are involved, and they might move less deeply than before.

Concerning the switch between attacking levels, Juve is still switching from blue to orange in a flash. Ah and bombing me with long balls.

I can't really explain why, but the game feels better. The rhythm feels cooler, less frantic.

But in the video it is different. There is retreat by some of the players but if you watch at 31:04, Vidal does not retreat at all and moves up into space where he can block the pass down the sideline. Once the ball is moved across the pitch he then goes back to his position. It is much different, of course, I am playing with fluid formations on and my own tactics, etc. This is after I have possession for a period of time and he is still not retreating, only retreats once the ball is passed to the other side of the field and then he has to get back into position. It happened multiple times in the game, it is quite cool actually.

Re: PES 2017 Patch 1.02 & Data Pack 1 Available, Here Are The Full Details

With more games post patch, I agree with others that have already said the patch has dramatically improved this game. I found the game really great before, but now it is simply awesome. It flows so much naturally.

The physical advantage the CPU had before seems to be gone, which lead to very pleasant battle in the penalty areas, the midfield, all over the place indeed. Before patch, using R2+R1 was mandatory to have a chance to win a duel against the CPU, now it so much balanced. The magnet tackling ability of the cpu seems to have been lessen. These two things only, have greatly reduced two potential sources of frustration that were in the game before the patch. These could sounds like it impacted negatively the difficulty of the game, but no, the game is still very challenging (at least in Superstar).

Also, it seems to me that the cohesion between the different lines defense, midfield, attack, have been greatly improved. For example, while testing klashman tactics for the BPL, I was complaining about Liverpool defense which was sitting very deep and always letting acres of space to the cpu attackers in transitions (I was playing with Liverpool). That's something I am not seeing anymore without touching the tactic

It is like konami actually listen the players complains (customer satisfactory inquiry they released at beginning of October?) and addressed the issues.
For someone coming from the competitor like me, who is used to a in general negative impact of patches, it sounds like a revolution.
Thanks konami for making this great game even better!

EDIT: The time of the latency before reaction of your player after the cpu tackled you seems to have been reduced too.
