This worked for me, give it a try.

I think I found a way to get a better scan if you're having trouble. Lay down on your bed with your head flat (no pillow). Try to have a dark sheet on the bed behind your head. I've done two scans now (first one was good, second one even better) and they are way better! Keeps your head stable and helps it rotate left and right more naturally. You may have to deal with a few blemishes due to less than perfect lighting, but if you can manufacture even light over your face it has helped greatly. Literally night and day better.

Try it out and let me know if it works for you
