Sure but I can list these things that have changed

1.CDM now moves up into space

2.You don't get mugged straight off kickoff anymore by the CPU ST on top player or superstar. Instead of them immediately sprinting on a direct path to the first guy you touch the ball too they are more casual with their behavior.

3.That dainty dribble animation where the player has his arms out to the side and appears to be skipping seems to have disappeared

4.Fatigue (to me, need to test this more) seems to not be as harshly applied late in the match. I was having most of my squad and the cpu totally gassed by the 80th. I have not changed the way I play to conserve energy. It just seems to have been toned down.

Again, just to be clear, nobody is arguing here. It's more stunned amazement that this is happening and confusion to how this could happen, since it is unprecedented.

The bottom line here is no matter what wizardry enabled these changes, the demo is playing fantastic right now.

In this game, and someone please correct me if im wrong, there are no server side fixes (like in Battlefield for example). And also, in PES the gameplay itīs not server side, itīs a file like the .ini file on Fifa with all the parameters of the game. If that file in PES is changed, Konami MUST release an update, Sony does not allow any company to do this changes without their consent. Thatīs why we read the devs sometimes saying "the patch is done, it awaits approval from Sony".

Now, again, im not saying that there are no changes and im not saying that on PC or XBOX changes were really made to the game files, but on PS4 itīs something else.

Maybe itīs the switch on/off of the Att. Fulbacks, maybe if the CF is on a red arrow the DMF letīs him loose and goes to attack because the CF is on poor form, maybe itīs another thing completely different.

Maybe... itīs just what makes PES feels so fresh! Itīs not as "robotized" as Fifa and things donīt play out always the same!
Have you ever played the NHL series? They release "tuner updates" which are NOT patch files, they automatically install when you login to the game and are connected to the internet. This is probably what Konami did stealthily.

It's easy to find out if they indeed stealth hotfixed anything. Just turn off your connection to play offline. Hotfixes only work when connected.

Thing is, I don't remember the demo even having an online TOS acceptance screen to begin with, which it must if it connects. So I'm pretty sure it doesn't connect anyway.

I imagine what people are seeing as different has to do with things like the "form" and "emotion" of players. You can change these in the game settings screen. Or maybe even just different games providing different results. *shrugs*

Yes, i played NHL 14 and 16 a LOT! Loved 16 really.

But those tuner updates where downloaded in-game, we got a clear warning that there was a new tuner update and gave us the option to download it (for online games it wasnīt optional of course). So again, it was a download, it was a file, it warned us and asked for permission. Crystal clear stuff there.

There is no such thing in this PES demo.

Couldnīt agree more, to me itīs things like form, emotion, on/off tactics, etc... the "randomness"! Itīs the thing that will give this game longevity.

Yeah. It's why I never fuss around with sliders in modern games and why I prefer PES over Fifa.

I feel like sliders are actually what make every game feel the same because you're basically trying to tune the randomness. Which, IMO, is counter intuitive.

Sure, it's not perfect, especially when you get blasted by a 4th tier team in a domestic cup game because the CPU "cheats" you. But if any real life sport were 100% predictable, none of us would watch, or play for that matter.

For the sake of the topic, I like the demo but am not in love with it. It feels roughly the same as 16. Goalies are a little better, and seeing fouls is cool. But I just don't feel like those should be bullet points considering how poor they were last year.

I have tried through ball "basic" and it is much better. I was thinking advanced though ball was the way to go to be 100% FUMA but basic do not seems assisted neither and actually the ball seems to go in the desired direction (was not always the case with advanced).

For some reason I am insisting in super star difficulty but man this is hard. I am loosing most of my games and I barely manage to score also against under dogs.

CPU seems to be most of the time one step a head of me. Defensively I can clearly identify my mistakes (ie: pressing with CB, running...).
Dribbling is especially hard with this game too.
I am not complaining, I accept the fact that I am coming from a very different board and I am doing my re-education.
Also the difficulty is a sort of guarantee of challenge for the coming year.

Concerning the change in the demo, I am 100% sure I am experiencing a different (better) gameplay than before and the player positioning has definitely improved. I know there is a huge mystery behind the "how" but if you need to be convinced have a look at Matt great material and just compare the radar from one video to the other (post mod video: France Germany at 1h10/ pre mod video: France Germany at 3h35)

What animation are you refering to? Do you have a video of it so it could be easier to see?

About the dribbling, if you are like me and donīt want to memorize the street fighter style combinations to dribble, do this:

Put the controls to auto-feint. This doesnīt mean that your player will dribble automatticaly, it just makes it easier for you to dribble like this:

Move the Right Stick in any direction. This will "pre-load" the dribble. Then, move the Left Stick to the direction (and this is the crucial part) where you want the dribble to end! Your player will perform a dribble, and no matter what dribble he performs, it will ALWAYS end in the direction you choose with the Left Stick.

Hope that helps!

About the video, i think everyone agrees that there is a difference. What others (and i) disagree is that those changes are something Konamy did stealthily, and are probably something else already in the game.
