I don't understand why some off you guys worry about overall ratings so much. When I play I don't even look at player ratings I just try to use players the way they would play on real life. I'm more concerned about if they play as they should. An overall rating isn't exactly going to determine this.

Now if we have Dwight Howard drilling 3s or Tony Parker throwing down dunks there's an issue but usually these ratings are pretty accurate especially once the season starts and 2k starts releasing roster updates, which were extremely consistent last year.
