Camera Settings:

Field Side (custom)

Zoom 1
Height 0
Angle 10

Most fun I've had with a demo since one of the NCAA Football demos from 7 or 8 years ago.

I think Professional difficulty is the way to go for the Demo. Already seen the CPU properly use the Attack/Def levels. They are changing their gameplan of those levels depending on who they face. I think the higher difficulties are too sensitive to those levels, which is why they appear so manic and hyperactive to switch to them.

On Pro difficulty, the CPU actually plays the right way, relevant to the Att/Def levels. And no, it's not very easy to beat them because they are not giving up their spaces like they do on Top Player and Superstar. A press is a proper press where the players step into their zones, relevant to where the ball is, and then pounce on the player, but not to the point they swarm with 3:1.

Playing right now.

The only 2 things that are making me question buying this are:

1) Licsences: I hear they don't even have Bayern this year!
2) Transfer updates, Konami are notorious for not being prompt.

Other than that I wouldn't even consider that other game as an option.

If the gameplay stay close (improved if possible) from where it is, this game is a day one purchase for me this year.
No, for the better and the worse, Konami doesnīt really alter gameplay in the same game, usually they only do it on next years version.

The good things stay, along with the bad ones.

The angle at 10 is definitely a must in all horizontal cameras.

Couldnīt catch your streaming, but the feeling i have on the Pro difficulty is this:

If you play with 0 pass assistance and manual through balls you will still get a very decent challenge on offense, the CPU defense still plays well organized, covers spaces and you canīt exploit the through ball on manual.

However, altough the CPU also plays well on offense, i canīt feel that "danger" feeling in their offense (something i hated in FIFA).

So, for now itīs still top player for me BUT with the full game and the hability to fully alter teams gameplan maybe the PRO difficulty can get that feeling on offense too.

One thing i remembered yesterday was that in PES 16 there was a setting of number of players on offense and defense. I believe it was "Many", "Normal" and "Few", both on offense and defense. One of the things that can also cause these attack/defense mentality on higher levels is the teams having "Many" both on offense and defence.

I believe that's been changed now, hasn't it - possibly to the "support" scale?

Yeah, there are times when the CPU falters on Pro. This is a good and bad thing, because it's less about frantic defending, and more about maintaining shape. You know it's the right difficulty when the CPU:

- Forces passes, gets deflected
- Multiple deflections in a row
- Poor long balls and through balls
- Clearing the ball
- Passing the ball backwards, including to the GK
- Moving ball from side to side vs Forward-Forward
- Att Level reacts to the flow of the match, regardless of minute (usually on higher levels, the only increase/decrease in levels is 70+ minute)

Defense
- Maintaining shape
- More standing fouls
- Moving up in press relative to ball's position

The most noticeable with Pro difficulty, is that the CPU's attack is just more controlled. You can see they are actually "thinking" behind their build up, and not just blindly passing. I agree though, wish there was a bit more of a killer instinct.

Overall, I still wish there was better shape through the midfield, on all difficulties (Pro thru Superstar). Bypassing the midfield is enemy #1, and I still believe that's a product of the lack of transition level.

Re: PES 2017 Demo Available on Xbox One, PS4, PS3 - Post Your Impressions

I'll be again very harsh with the game. This is not an accurate representation of the sport of football.
- No AI build up at all.
- End-to-end football, it's like watching 10yrs old children playing in the park.
- Fouls are improved but still refs are way too inconsistent.
- GKs animations are still a joke. In many occasions their diving animation is too slow.
- Back and forth runs by players are ridiculous. It's like watching some cartoon where someone suddenly accelerates and disappears in a second.
- AI doesn't go with the obvious/logical passing decisions on the offensive end.

AI no buildup? Looks like they do it in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mND7NFQM9dw ("Estrela" in that video is super star.)

What difficulty you using?

Crazy scramble around the goal in a Germany vs France match.
