NBA 2K17 Soundtrack Revealed

I usually don't care whether specific songs are featured in 2K's soundtracks, but I'm extremely disappointed untitled 07 (Levitate) by Kendrick Lamar isn't featured on the the soundtrack. Not just because I love the track, but also because of this:

Do any of you guys remember the Nba Courtside 02 signature tracks? If you don't, look up " one love "," courtside " and " ko-beats. -timeless, nostalgic music with rhythm but at the same time fit the theme of basketball. 2k and madden are in the same boat in that both have gone mostly mainstream because of the much higher exposure to their games.

Back in the day, 2k had the Hieroglyphics crew, Abstract Rude, Aceyalone, Chali 2na, Jean Grae, Dilated Peoples, Mr. Lif, People Under the Stairs, RJD2, Del the Funkee Homosapien and Madlib. Hell even Redman was in the soundtrack in I believe 2k6 or 2k7. All classic underground hip-hop that set the tone for the game. The nfl 2k5 soundtrack was also brilliant. Back then 2k tried to get these dope underground guys more exposure, now they're mostly about appealing to the bigger audience- the casual crowd, in the soundtrack department.

People don't like the soundtrack because they've heard the 2k soundtracks from yesteryear ( going back to pre-2k12)and they realize A LOT of these songs don't " fit the bill " of basketball, not saying they're bad songs, but some just don't belong in a basketball game, or any sports video game period. But that's just my take on it. Ignorance is bliss, fella.

People have every right to compain about something that they're PAYING for, at least in most scenarios. I CHALLENGE you and the others to go LOOK at the Nba 2k soundtracks from 2k5-2k11 and then go back and glance at 2k17s and tell me something ain't right...I'll admit what this soundtrack has on the ones from the mid-2000s is diversity. 2k9 really was the first to bring a diverse feel to the game. 2k10 I thought did it best in that regard.
