I know it's preseason but I'm watching Sura Cravens lineup in the LB area. Maybe it's there nickel package

It wasn't like this last year, was it? Why would your spot on a depth chart affect your ability to get better (which I assume XP gained is indicative of)?

It's a new component of Training, this mechanic was not in Game Prep whatsoever.

Presumably, the theory behind the design is that the "ones" - whoever you assign them to be in your depth chart - get more reps than the "twos" or the "scout team" in practice and thus improve more. So this design decision simulates that.

It does open up the door for users to min-max it if they really want to, granted. That said, where else would you determine who your starters and backups are as Madden is currently built, if not the depth chart?

Where did I question how you determine starters/backups? Of course there's no other way, and I have no issue with that.

My issue is that backups don't get better more slowly simply because they're listed as a backup. If that were the case, starters would never be replaced by backups without an injury to the starter.

That's accounted for with the development trait.

It's a three-level system, three factors determine how much XP a player gets from Training:

- drill result (gold / silver / bronze medal; the better the medal, the more XP every player earns)
- depth chart position (this simulates the concept of your first-team players getting more reps in practice than your second- and third-team players)
- development trait (after being stratified by depth chart position, players with a better development trait will earn more XP)

Despite wearing a DB number Cravens has been lining up and practising with the ILBs throughout training camp from what I've read. Not working with the safety group

No exploit convo. Thanks.
I'm not sure what you mean, but when I did this, putting DBs at Linebacker, it was to nano blitz. It was very explotive, which is why I understand why they restricted that. So, it's very much apart of the conversation. Not trying to upset people

Come on guys, complaining about not being able to sub a WR for HB? let's be real.......only certain teams will line up a WR in the backfield and then only with specific formations. Choose a playbook that has that option. That is more of a formation package than a formation sub.
