He plays both. New England like a lot of times doesn't line up in a true 4-3/3-4 they play mostly of sub packages in which they can feature anywhere from 1-4 LB's. Dant'a, Jamie, and Freeney (as well as Mayo in previous seasons) all play inside and outside. In most depth charts you will usually see Collins and Hightower both outside and Freeney inside.
