I've heard positive reviews about Dirt Rally in VR on other racing forums. Now I am not presently playing Dirt Rally in VR on the Rift because I presently don't own the Rift. But I am playing Project Cars in VR using my Vive and I have to say that all the hype about VR is not hype. It's true. The immersion factors in VR are all they are said to be. You actually feel like you are in the car and you can look to your apexes. It's awesome. Now the resolution isn't where we would like it to be with both the Rift and the Vive. But the immersion of being in VR makes you quickly forget about the less than ideal resolution. Plus we are in early days regarding VR sim racing technology. It will only get better in the coming years. But I decided to get into it now because I am not getting any younger and I want to enjoy driving at the limit in VR before I get too old for all this.
Warning though, it does require a high end PC with a high end GPU. I am presently running an i7 6700 CPU with a NVidia 1080 GPU and it was worth every penny for my new VR sim racing hobby. 2D monitors are obsolete. VR is the future for sim racing. You have to try it, but once you do you will see the light.
